After reading some of the scathing reviews I took it all with a grain of salt and hoped for the best, we had no option! The woman that booked us in was very unfriendly and rude when I asked a question. I felt that we should apologize for pulling her out from her eyrie behind the glass. The room wasn't...

Let's face it - this is your one and only option in the middle of the Dempster Highway. If your expectations are properly aligned, you will enjoy your stay. If you need five star lodging, you might ask yourself why you are travelling in the fringes of the Yukon Territory in the first place. My friend stayed in the room...

This is the ONLY place that you can stay if you are (wisely) breaking your journey up the Dempster into two days. The vista is absolutely magnificent - flanked by fireweed looking out over a plateau. It's bare bones though. They only have 6 powered sites, and you can fill up on water, but no dumping. We loved it there....

Having read some of the reviews before our Dempster Highway trip, we were expecting the worth. The reality: a very classical north-american motel, quite large, with a canteen-type dining-room and a more cosy saloon-type bar where you can also have dinner served. The food is standard and good given that everthing has to be brought from (very) far. Service is...

Very friendly people, really nice lounge, good food and service. Not cheap of course but what would you expect in the middle of the Dempster Highway. The gas and mechanical services for about 250 miles in either direction. Even if you don't stay there get food and gas. The room was very clean, comfortable and quite.

We visited this restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast: In the morning the restaurant itself was open. It is a nice restaurant with a good and casual atmosphere. The egg dishes in the morning were very good. Dinner: In the evening after 4.30 pm we were seated in the bar for dinner. Because the motel was fully booked, there were...

Stayed two times on our trip to Inuvik. The rooms were clean but the bathrooms are in bad need of repair. Caulking gone around tub and you can see black (mold?) around edge of tub enclosure. Plastic container of (something?) under the bathroom sink. Unfriendly staff at registration desk. Lounge is awesome and so was the bartender, a young lady from...

Really the only option other than camping if you want to stay over on the Dempster. Arrived just before 9 pm and the kitchen stayed open so we could have a meal. Room adequate. Cost 5$ for WiFi. Breakfast in the am was plentiful. Sufficient for two to share unless you are a trucker then the portion is just right!

I have travelled the Dempster on many occasions, particularly in the Winter when the scenery is absolutely stunning. Amidst the wilderness is this wonderful oasis known as Eagle Plains. The welcome you receive is superb, even when the elements outside create mayhem inside with travellers heading for cover. The food I have received has always been fantastic and certainly ample...

I notice there is some bad reviews on here about Eagle Plains. Please take into account you are around 400 kms north of Dawson City, which is over 500 kms north of Whitehorse which is....... In other words; your not there to critique the dated room layout, or the phone service. They do an excellent job of providing a necessary...
