Called in whilst passing through Barton. Service provided by friendly staff was top notch and the home cooked food was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and great care taken with their real ales. Great pub.

The George has changed to what it used to be. Clean, staff very friendly and generally a good inn. We stayed in a room above the entrance doors overlooking the main street - which was noisy but could cope for 1 night. What was wrong was the beds. You can feel the springs through the mattress and was very uncomfortable....

Stayed one night. This is a large inn with a bar and restaurant downstairs, and about seven rooms to accommodate travellers upstairs, clearly converted from an old coaching in. It doesn't pretend to be luxury, it is just clean fairly basic accommodation which met our expectations. There was no noise from the bar area, a bit of noise from outside...

The welcome from the team is great, they remembered it was our daughter's birthday just from a passing comment- clearly pay attention to detail. the pub is nice and...

I booked this place for a business trip and found it a very nice place to stay. It was very warm and welcoming, the rooms are nice and clean, bathrooms too. The restaurant is also good value with a fair amount to choose from. I will return when I'm in the area.
