Was here on 20th November with my wife one of our children and my parents. We all opted for the Sunday carvery and everyone had a very nice meal. Options for beef, turkey and pork and all the usual veg gravy and yorkshires. Service was prompt and the staff were very helpful and attentive. We had puddings and a cheese... More

In the area to visit family and the first time we have stayed here. The rooms are very large (old building) and well kempt. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The welcome from the team is great, they remembered it was our daughter's birthday just from a passing comment- clearly pay attention to detail. the pub is nice and... More

I booked this place for a business trip and found it a very nice place to stay. It was very warm and welcoming, the rooms are nice and clean, bathrooms too. The restaurant is also good value with a fair amount to choose from. I will return when I'm in the area.

After a thoroughly delightful welcome, we were taken to our rooms (three in all), each with their own character and views. We were all delighted with the standard of decor, bedding, towels, toiletries etc as well as the furnishings. Although we were all going out that evening, some of our group were very hungry after a long journey and therefore... More

The rooms were very clean, tidy and comfortable. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble. The selection of... More

I arrived late after train-challenged travel from London. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They made some fish/chips and some vegetables for me, and it was great. The bar and dining areas are interesting, old, and charming. The building must have an amazing history. The wireless internet worked well. I only had fruit and coffee for breakfast, but what...
