I only stayed one night as I had a hospital appointment to attend early the next day. I just wanted a cheap bed for the night and for £10 wasn't disappointed! It was the last day before the hostel closed for refurbishment. I didn't really think a lot needed doing, just a few minor repairs here and there. The bunk...

We were a quite complex school visit, with four schools attending for a poetry retreat in the New Forest. From the very beginning, the team at YHA gave great advice, efficient administration and went out of their way to accommodate us; they, for example, put us in touch with local people who may be able to enrich our visit with...

I only spent one night there, but it's worth staying longer! This hostel is lovely and rather cheap - we stayed in a dorm but would highly recommend the pods they have outside, they look amazing. It's a quiet place, in the middle of the forest. We had dinner and breakfast there, which were both affordable and nice.

This was our third year with a party of students. We stayed one night on half board basis. As always food was good and a quiet stay. One room out of action due to ceiling fault and that meant we had to utilise a couple of the camping pods. Feared they might be chilly and damp but were quite comfy...

We camped in the grounds of the Hostel as all beds were booked. Having a camp kitchen and being able to use the Hostel's facilities made camping easy even in October. The grounds were a little grubby with broken glass and used BBQs around but as it is closing for a refurbishment soon perhaps the management are winding down?

On the night of Sunday, Sept. 11 one of the groups camping held a loud, drunken party in the centre of the campground. Not that stag and hen parties and booze are unusual there but this one went on until almost 3 AM, surely disturbing the other campers trying to sleep. I complained at reception in the morning, and was...

Hello lostonsomehorizon I'm sorry to hear your stay was disturbed by other guests at the hostel, we've had an excellent summer with very few incidence of unsociable behaviour as the campgrounds are quite popular with families and activity focused individuals. I recall the night and the guests you have mentioned and did have to approach them several times to respect...

Having never stayed at a YHA before sadly I was expected more of a backpackers delight..... I'm very pleased to say it was the exact opposite. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean tidy and generally all the other visitors seemed like minded and there simply to enjoy themselves and respect each others lieks and dislikes. The new kitchen / showerblock...

Well, YHA tends to remind one of rough and ready dorms full of young and not so young earnest ramblers. How times have changed! You can still have that cheap and cheerful experience but you can also book rooms, family rooms, glamping tents already set up and, in our case, a 'pod'! You can buy full breakfast and evening supper...

Good value 1 night stay for a large family. We all enjoyed our breakfast. Friendly staff. Clean hostel. Beautiful surroundings. Lovely village within walking distance. We would love to try the pods or bell tents!
