My wife and I stayed at Lifupa on a camping trip around Malawi for 2 nights. The campsite is right on the edge of the Lake/Dam a little distance away from the main lodge (too far to walk over for a drink in the bar, especially at night) with a beautiful outlook. We were spoiled by the view to a...

First the (very) good: I visited Lifupa Lodge with a group of four for an overnight, primarily to use as a home base to explore Kasungu National Park. The lodge is located directly on a large watering hole, home to hippos and a variety of birds, Because it was dry season, it also drew puku (medium-sized antelope species) and (best...

A warm and friendly welcome awaited us at the end of a tiring journey. During our few days stay the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our accommodation was clean and well presented and I especially liked the mosquito nets that were hole free and gave much more room to move about than others...

We arrived at lifupa late afternoon. We had kept in touch with Yobe , the manager and we're welcomed by him and his staff on arrival. I stayed in a rondavel overlooking the lake. It was very clean and the mosquito nets were in excellent condition. We were given a menu for dinner which offered a very reasonable variety of...

I had been to Lifupa Conservation Lodge in 2012 and with the same sweet memories, I and my wife decided to go again for a couple of days especially to watch the full moon and its reflection on the tranquil river. What a shock, although the natural beauty is the same, there were bat and bird droppings on the chairs...

Lifupa Conservation Lodge rates as the most inept and badly managed establishments I have ever stayed in. The joke being that this "Lodge" charges from almost US$100 pp per night, to over that, including breakfast and excluding all their other badly prepared meals. Let's start with our arrival, Friday 13th May 2016 (and no, I'm not one for superstition). Despite...

Out in the bush; that was my first impression when we arrived at Lifupa, after sundown. First surprise was the room in the challet allocated to me. Natural and cultural touch and the feel of it. A veranda facing the lake, which like a mirror reflects both the morning sun and the moonlight at night... how spectacular the scene that...

What beautiful view I could sit and watch the lake for hours Petty the game reserve has almost no animals as this would let me go back over and over despite there been no electricity or hot water or lights . The staff were very helpful and friendly . Ten out of ten for Isac . Nothing was to much...

I was working for 3 weeks in Lilongwe and only had the weekends to explore. Lifupa is a great escape. I didnt have a car and they helped me arrange transport. I a saw elephants, hypos and lots of other wildlife. The food and staff were amazing and I had a great sunset hike up the rock. Really recommend this...

Over a work trip to Lilongwe, I had a weekend free. I was desirous of seeing wildlife and escaping the city, and not spending too long in a car. I chose to go to Kasungu National Park (it's only a 3 hour drive from Lilongwe) and stay at Lifupa Lodge. It was the best decision I made on the entire...
