The last time I was at this hotel was 4 years ago and I was happy to find that this week nothing has changed. The staff are warm, friendly, polite, welcoming and offer great service. The rooms are all of a good size and immaculately clean and the food was excellent. The only criticism would be the decor which is... More

Working in the local area found this place via TA. Stayed one night in a cottage unit which meant I was able to park right outside the door - ideal for unloading bags and sorting through my car load of stuff. Nice room with widescreen TV etc. restaurant was not overpriced and the food was very good. Staff very friendly... More

The set price menu (around £20 for 3 courses) is great value. The food is well presented and decently cooked. Fish can be over cooked on occasion. Being in Yorkshire the table is given a large dish of vegetables, so there can be no complaints of going hungry. It's not fine dining but the price reflects this. The service is... More

We stayed in one of the cottage rooms and it was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom had bath and shower and lovely toiletries provided. All of the hotel team were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was really good. Excellent free wifi. Easy access from the main road - highly recommend this as a place to stay.

Stayed overnight in Room 4, (four poster room), excellent standard, room possibly a little small and lack more comfortable seating, (minor faults). Evening meal totally faultless but you DO need a healthy appetite. Breakfast even better, service to a T.

Good amenities, excellent food, but my room (2) was directly over the lounge, and therefore I could not sleep from the noise coming up through the floor and up the staircase. Then, at 12:30am, all the noise-makers came up to go to their rooms (my room was right at the top of the staircase). Finally got to sleep at 1am... More

My family have come to the Loftsome for 20 years and everytime the food is perfect. The location is superb. The rooms are pleasant, particularly in the cottages. Ideal of families, couples or business trips! It's nice even if you are on your own and wish to run/walk through the local villages.

I have never stayed at this hotel due it being close to home, but my wife and I together with friends use the restaurant regularly. The food is excellent and priced at a level for which you would except to pay a lot more. The staff are brilliant and I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a... More

Visited Loftsome Bridge earlier today for Sunday Lunch with a family party, my step dad was celebrating his 65th. We drove in on a horrendously grey day from York. We were greated warmly, ordered some drinks and pored over the menu. The problem here is what to order, everything is always of a terrifically high standard & its difficult to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestling alongside the tranquil River Derwent lies Loftsome Bridge Coaching House. Dating back to 1782, the Coaching Inn as it was known, offered food and shelter to travellers for more than a century. It then became a working farm and guest house. After several years of painstaking restoration, we would like to continue the tradition and offer food and accommodation to the twenty first century traveller. ... more   less
