Quaint walking tour of Shakespeare's birthplace. Saw the bed he slept in. How his father was a glove maker( with cat's leather) . The fact he left his wife his BED as her only possession in his will. Very interesting how times have changed. We saw many shakespearean plays acted out. Saw Shakespeare's grave.& theatre. Very worthwhile visit. Wouldn't have...

this property is now a private residence, and no longer operates as a hotel/B&B, so rooms are not available for booking. as far as i am able to tell, the last bookings occurred around one and a half years ago.

Having owned my own business, I realize there are some people who wouldn't be happy if you bathed them personally....always grousing about something. But, believe me, my partner & I stayed here 4 luxurious days with a wonderfully comfortable & decorated Shakespeare Room. The dinners and breakfasts were outstanding, the grounds wonderful for a nice rest & tea, and the...

Our host was very accommodating and a warm welcome awaited us. The room was characterful and immaculate. Breakfast was a joy, cooked to order and very fresh (also included a fresh fruit, cereal and pastry breakfast buffet). We were given great advice on where to visit and shop with personal recommendations from the guest house owner. Even the resident cat...

We stayed at Shakespeare House for one night in February 2012. Whilst we cannot fault the accommodation, throughout our stay we were given the impression that we were an inconvenience to our hosts rather than welcome guests. Upon arrival it took the hosts a while to open the door for us, and whilst this was not the end of the...

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days in early October 2011. The people who run this establishment really understand what the word hospitality means. The food is great, the room was comfortable and the on-suite was all that it was cracked up to be. After 26 hours in a plane and then a a half day in the...

What can I say. I thought I'd decide to surprise my Wife and judging from the reviews here, I knew that I made the right choice. We both loved the stay, the house is stunning and apparently it is where shakespear wrote midsummer nights dreams here. We stayed at the hermia suite in the barn conversion and it is contemporary...

We stayed for one night and had a fabulous time. Ben was very helpful and made sure we had a great time with no issues. The breakfast was excellent, with gorgeous homemade bread and marmalades. The accommodation is excellent, furnished to a very high standard. We hope to return soon.

What a terrific experience! The house is spectacular, the grounds, beautiful, the breakfasts and dinners (don't miss their meals!) gourmet level and the hosts, incomparable! Ben, the manager, was so terrific, and Nick, the perfect host. We had the most wonderful time and plan on a return stay. Thanks, guys!

We stayed for one night and were afforded fantastic hospitality. Our room was small but had everything that we needed and was very comfortable. The house ouses history, is expertly furnished and is great if you want to enjoy something a little different. Leave room for the full English breakfast as it is superb.

“Shakespeare Room was large, convenient and at the front of the house, but sleeping was fine--it's a very quiet area. Bathroom (en suite) was a beauty too with double sinks.”
