We had the Sunday carvery here yesterday, there are three choices, small, two slices of meat, medium, three slices or large, five slices. The meats offered were sirloin and topside of beef, pork, gammon turkey and lamb. The slices were a very acceptable thickness, with large Yorkshire pudding, stuffing roast and new potatoes, then you helped yourself to creamy mashed...

Very welcoming village pub with straightforward but comfortable accommodation. Stunning views and walks by the River Coquet, good food and beer, well placed for exploring Northumberland. Highly recommended.

They were pretty busy but I still waited 30 minutes or more which was too long. But the food when it came out was awesome. Too big to eat it all. The salmon was beautifully cooked with a couple of tasty prawns on top. Service just could have been better

Yet another fantastic break with the dog. Quality food that was cooked to order (why some comment on waiting when comes out fresh and gorgeous). Rooms so comfy I did not want to get up. All en-suite with plenty of towels and toiletries. But best of all, FANTASTIC staff. If anyone wants a good place to stay with superb views,...

We were very disappointed with our room. Mouldy, flaking paint, dirty, the sink wasn't attached to the wall properly, the toilet wasn't attached to the floor, we couldn't have a proper shower because it flooded and we couldn't open a window because then the room was filled with the stench from an extractor vent directly outside it. We were told...

Came here in spring for a mealwhen we were staying in Rothbury. So when we were up in Weldon Bridge and had a disappointing meal we went to find this lovely place again. It was a Monday night and the place was packed but they managed to fit us in. The food and welcome was once again fantastic so we...

Stayed here with my husband for 2 nights, just up the road from pretty Rothbury and not far from Cragside - the first house to have electricity in Britain. Beautiful view out of the bedroom window and the room was clean and very comfortable, with a large bathroom. Deep pile carpet and colour co-ordinated wall and bed linen finished the...

Heading for Scotland we stopped over here for a night. We were made very welcome, travelling with our old Golden Retriever. The bar is pleasant, we ate there with the dog, the dining room looks very nice. Food was excellent. The bedrooms was fine, typical for a pub at this price range. Lovely thick towels in the bathroom. We didn't...
