We have stayed here several times and always thought it good value for money. However, our recent visit was so disappointing I feel compelled to write a comment. Our room was very bland with probably the worse view of all the rooms (room 10) a brick wall and the car park. The bed was a complete nightmare, so hard (as...

This is a terrific hotel and Pub with a great restaurant. The rooms are spotless and comfortable, a real powerful shower thermostatically controlled. The décor is really nice and the bed is comfortable. WiFi is good in the rooms as well as in the bar. This is a great place for a business trip or social visit. The pub is...

As we have recently retired, we were attracted to the 'Sunday Deal' (£110 for DBB). The restaurant is obviously very popular as it was still busy from Sunday lunch when we booked in in the afternoon & there was a nice ambience in the evening as there were again several people dining. There was a good choice for the evening...

Twice this year we have called in here for a cooked lunch before checking into flights at Bristol Airport. Really good food, nice surroundings and great wine. Helpful and attentive staff. Good choice for a typical village pub. No doubt will be there again soon.

We have recently returned from a weekend's break at The Carpenters Arms. Lovely, clean & comfortable rooms with excellent tea & coffee facilities in the room. We also ate at the pub for both the nights we were staying & although not cheap, it was very good food. Good beer & wine list too. Breakfast is excellent & sets you...

10 of us stayed at the pub for a nearby wedding, the rooms were lovely, very modern and spacious. The bathroom had a wonderful power shower and the bed was comfortable. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. They allowed us into our rooms to get changed as they were ready early. The pub is delightful and has...

We returned to The Carpenters Arms for my mother in laws surprise 95th birthday lunch as she enjoyed her Mothering Sunday lunch so much. We were a party of 20 and had a room to ourselves, although not cut off. We had fabulous food and service although they appeared to be as busy as usual with Sunday lunches. My mother in...

This country pub has excellent accommodation and is handily placed almost midway between Bath and Bristol. The rooms are spotless, comfortable and well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. This pub has a good bar and also boasts an excellent restaurant that serves great food which is all locally sourced, although some of it can be a bit on...

As I didn't have enough room at my home to accommodate all my guests coming to celebrate a 60th birthday. I booked two rooms at the carpenters for what originally was going to be three people and then a surprise guest said they were coming. So at short notice I needed them to change booking to a twin room to...
