We had the pleasure of spending a few nights at Casa Zinc while touring the coast of Uruguay and absolutely loved the place and the staff. The aesthetic is funky and charming, in a comfortable, low-key, upscale sort of way. Our room had a huge window facing the inner courtyard (which we loved) and was well appointed (e.g., great reading... More

Was it real? Was I really there? Was I in some foreign movie? Possibly the movie "The Motorcycle Diaries" based on Che Guerara's epic motorcycle ride through South America in the 1950's?(The design of Casa Zinc could be something right out of that movie.) No, just a delightful stay at an amazing place and an amazing experience at Casa Zinc.... More

My wife and I stayed at Casa Zinc for 2 nights in early October as part of 3 day trip to Uruguay. It is genuinely one of most unique and memorable places we've ever stayed in. As other reviewers have noted the architecture and interior design are based on salvaged and recycled antiques and materials which gives the place an... More

We stayed at Casa Zinc, the last weekend in May, an Argentine public holiday, so things were much busier than normal for the time of year. So busy indeed, that the only seats available were on the Buqebus midnight, slow ferry, via Colonia. The First Class part does not apply to the bus, which is the bulk of the route &... More

In order to explore the immediate surrounding areas of PDE we decided to stay in La Barra rather than in PDE itself. Based on reviews and travel guides we decided to stay at Casa Zinc. We did not regret. From the moment we arrived at the property we felt it was the right choice. The Posada is designed in a... More

We stayed at Casa Zinc for 3 nights only during our Easter Break from Sao Paulo. If you are tired of the normal big chain business hotels, then this is the best retreat you will have during your stay in Uruguay! Casa Zinc is a beautiful property. Spacious, well-designed rooms with plenty of natural light and superb attention to detail... More

We have spent three nights in Casa Zinc in the Architects room. Very cute decor, great attention to detail! The owner is a very talented architect who does his own furniture as well as building projects. He was more then helpful in telling us all about the surrounding and giving us great recommendations about where to eat, what to see,... More

Casa zinc is beautiful! The rooms are so well designed, clean and the bed is amazing. Breakfast was lovely, we got a little tired of the same thing after 6 days but it was still nice. The owner was really helpful and all the staff very friendly. Definitely stay here if you want to avoid the high rises of Punta... More

Really cool small house - with a wonderful staff. The owner Aaron knows everything about the area and will give great recommendations for dining and touring. We loved having bicycles available to get around but ended up walking everywhere mostly. Restaurants in the area we tried were Pura Vida and Baby Gouda- both were excellent! The town is a perfect...
