This is a nice place to stay before climbing Aconcagua--beautiful setting, nice rooms (the owners are trying to fix them up--apparently the hotel was going to be torn down several years ago), but the thing that was ridiculous was the fact that YOU HAVE TO BUY BOTTLED WATER (which is not only an unexpected expense, but VERY BAD FOR THE...

Hello and thank you for taking the time to write a review. Please allow me to explain the water issue. Even in the city there are many restaurants that won’t serve tap water, as the water filtration process in Mendoza is far from perfect. Up here in the middle of the mountains, the filtration is of an even lower standard....

A nice stop before a trip to Aconcagua. The food was great. A nice atmosphere overall. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean, nothing special. They can use a refresh. It's what you'd expect at a ski lodge. I was able to get phone service when it wasn't too windy.

My stay here was fantastic with excellent services from Steve and his team of staff. Dinner was extreme delicious since it was under Inka but the portion was tremendous. The room was great with hot showers and panoramic views as well.

Had the pleasure of staying in the Ayelen in January of 2015 before heading into the Park to climb Aconcagua and stopped there briefly afterwards, too. As I expected, the summer world outside was stark, dry, and windy, and many of the structures in the Penitentes area appeared weathered by the mountain environment. Inside the Ayelen was a different world...

Had the pleasure of staying here before and after a climb of Aconcagua. The place is obviously undergoing redevelopment, but what has been achieved so far is remarkable. The hotel was clean, food was great etc. but more importantly the service was wonderful - particularly Steve (the English owner) was as friendly, helpful and welcoming as you could hope for,...

Helpful staff and manager. Simply the best place to stay in the valley if going to Aconcagua. Service providers close by for baggage drop-off and/or pick-up for mule transport to Plaza de Mulas or Plaza de Argentina.

Was automaticly placed in this hotel as it was a part of our journey towards Aconcagua, aswell as a night stay after our hike. The rooms are decent, but the food.. The food here is the best I had all around Argentina! The salad, several of the main courses and the desert all went down as a new record breaker...

We stayed here before and after our climb on Aconcagua and really enjoyed it. It's just a short ~15 min ride from the Aconcagua Provincial Park Entrance. Steve the owner really made us feel welcome and is a great host. It felt more like staying at a friends home that a hotel. The menu in the restaurant is amazing for...
