The perfect setting for rest and relaxation, Tambatuon is located on the foothills of Mount Kinabalu in a beautiful valley by the Kedamaian River, surrounded by paddy fields and fruit orchards. Discover the amazing hospitality of the Dusun tribe, the biggest ethnic group in Sabah. Settle into your accommodation by the banks of the Kedamaian River in a longhouse equipped with private rooms, dorms, a common area, a kitchen, shared bathroom facilities, and a spacious verandah facing the mountain and river. Trek to a nearby river for swimming and relaxation, wander around the quaint village and through paddy fields, cross hanging bridges, practice rubber tree tapping, or simply sprawl out on the deck by the river. Meals are cooked by a local Dusun family.

Thank you Fendy and Vera for a lovely short stay. Your village was friendly and welcoming to us. Our children loved playing football with the locals and we all loved learning and eating your traditional cooking and also tubing in the river. Would recommend the stay to others and maybe a hike up the Kinabalu baby mountain (needs a whole day).

Whilst we loved our stay we were very disappointed to see some abuse and disrespect of the beautiful river. Whilst we were swimming someone discharged lots of blue paint waste directly into crystal clear river! Unbelievable really.. Terrible water pollution. Also disappointed to see burning rubber for a fire starter. The black smoke from rubber burning is highly toxic, known to cause cancer, and pollutes the air we all breath. We all need to make big steps now to avoid destroying our precious and beautiful planet. Tourists will support those who do.

We stayed here as part of a group trip. The accommodation was basic with bunk beds however everything was clean and better than expected. The shower facility was again basic but worked and there was enough toilets and showers to accommodate a large group.
The food provided was lovely and we had a cooking lesson with a family in the village who were all lovely and very friendly.

The village have tried to bring in more income by setting up a water tubing activity which was very fun but watch out for rocks on the way down.
There are a few dogs wandering around but they tend to leave you alone but are not pets and therefore not in the best condition.

Overall a lovely stay and would go back if doing the same type of trip.

Spent one night at this little village at one of many homestays. The accommodations are bunk beds but comfortable. The hosts were gracious. We cooked the best meal of the trip at one of the daughter's houses. Some people opted to river raft and they came back happy and excited. I opted to hike up the mountain to see the village's farming area, rubber, pineapple, it was a fun hike. The people in the village were all so friendly, I ended up buying homemade snacks from them and we became fast friends. The views are wonderful.....

We stayed here as part of a tour and unfortunately the river was in flood, so it curtailed some of the planned activities. The accommodation is very basic, bunk beds, shared toilets & showers etc so if you want comfort, this probably isn't the place to stay. Make sure to take your own supply of tissues, toilet paper and a sleeping bag liner. Villagers were great, very friendly and eager to please and the food was good. Brilliant view of Mt Kinabalu.
