Located in the red centre between Alice Springs and Ayers Rock. One of the very few lodges that exist in the area. Quite simple and basic but what you need is there. A charming place in the middle of nature. Close to a waterhole where you can go for a bath. Beautiful surroundings. An excellent restaurant and bar offering delicious... More

I was starting to worry about Glen Helen after reading some reviews. Yes, the rooms are basic but the beds are comfortable, the rooms were clean and for a night or two it's all you need. We had three rooms, everyone had a good night's sleep and the views of the gorge from outside our rooms were spectacular. Yes, there... More

Just got back from two nights at Glen Helen. Stayed in a motel family room. Ate in the restaurant one night and used the camp kitchen to cook an Australia Day feast the second night. The room was small and old and as previously stated certainly not 5 star, nor was it expected to be 5 star for the price.... More

Had a fantastic time with our Hosts Colin and Shelagh who are also long time friends. Came over to celebrate their joint 60th birthdays and were given a wonderful time. A gift of a massage, aquafit sessions, terrific meals and incredible company of people of whom we made wonderful friendships to continue the experience. Wonderful outings to Roma Gorge, Ormiston... I have fond memories of Glen Helen after stopping here en route to Haast's Bluff almost 30 years ago. Not much has changed. It is still a little oasis west of Alice. The rooms are basic but sufficient. The restaurant is great. I had the lamb cutlets which were delicious but undercooked and went through me during the night. 12... More

We stayed in a camper trailer in sept and we all froze during the night. Facilities need work for campers. No camp kitchen. Toilet seats cracked that pinched you. Lights not working. Toilets blocked. Unfortunately we were there at the same time as a group of teenagers so facilities were very busy. It is a very basic camping ground and... More

Dear Kate W Thanks for your review. Our campground is always under pressure during school holidays, and the big coach groups usually stretch everyone's patience as they are inclined to leave the bathrooms as if a bomb has hit ! However we do work hard to clean the bathrooms well. We have just revised our programme for the cleaning of... More

It truly is the only place in the area so the 2 restaurants are a bonus plus food & service was really excellent. Sadly the chef had the night off the 2nd night we were there so we could not enjoy the fine dining two nights in a row. It was really worth every cent the more pricey dining option!... More
