This hotel located in a former townhall is a very modern hotel with spacious rooms, nice room facilities as free coffee and tea on the 1st floor. Rooms are very clean and the beds are great. The restaurant is great with good service. The hotel is located in the center of Denekamp and from there you can make nice cycle tours in the environment.

Back again! Have been here several times and it was excellent. The weather helped enormously with our bike rides. The area lends itself to cream.
Our package included a surprise menu and you had a choice of starter and main course and dessert. It was delicious. The room was as usual (for us) nice and spacious with lovely beds and airco.Kortom this was not our last time.

What a nice hotel. Nice welcome, nice large room with or without balcony. Extensive breakfast, 3 great restaurants. In the middle of the village. Bicycles can be stored in a lockable shed. Can only be opened with your room key. Staff friendly, helpful and professional.

Great hotel discovered by chance while looking for a stopping point between Denmark and Belgium. Spacious room for 4, impeccable shower and hygiene products that smell very good. Quiet room for a well-deserved rest after the road. Hearty and varied breakfast for all tastes. Small free parking lot on the side of the hotel.

Excellent Hotel, Nice staff. They let you feel your patronage is very much appreciated. THE restaurant should offer a more imaginative cuisine, quality wise ok, but they should do better.

This review solely addresses the restaurant as we did not stay at the hotel. We visit de Schout quite often for lunch and dinner. The quality of the food is good and compared to other lunch spots in Denekamp there is quite a bit to choose from on the lunch menu. Waiting staff is definitely friendly but no extra smiles, extra service or chattiness.
However, on this instance we waited 45minutes for our lunch to be served. After we enquired after our order it appeared that our order had never reached the kitchen as it somehow had been lost. As we had an appointment coming up we asked to pay rather than wait for our order 15 more minutes. No apologies, no compensation, we still had to pay for the drinks we ordered with our lunch.

We had stayed before (August 2011) and knew to expect a very nice stay.

We were welcomed by a very pleasant receptionist who spoke good English. She did not just hand us the room key and point to the lifts. She took us to our room and showed us how everything worked. Really helpful.

There is plenty of parking in a free small town car park across the quiet street from the hotel this time we used the hotel's small free car park. There is good and easy to use WiFi throughout the hotel. We had dinner in the hotel which was fairly good and tasty with large portions and a high calorie content. Stick to one course. We also used a restaurant nearby on our previous visit which was also good.

The bathroom had all high quality fittings and a very good wet room style large shower cubicle. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. There was a small balcony with two chairs. It had good aircon & heating.

The hotel is a large town centre type but has lovely small hotel behaviour.

Breakfast was OK buffet style. Nice uncut bread. Bespoke cooked eggs were offered.

The town is small friendly and very pleasant. The location was perfect for our first night in The Netherlands and is only 2.5 hours drive from Rotterdam ferry port and the link to the UK.

The nearby Huis Singraven and its very pretty estate are worth a visit.

We had the special 2 night arrangement: coffee or tea on arrival, 2x breakfast and one 3 course dinner at a very competitive price. The rooms were outstanding, spacious, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The eye to detail left nothing to be desired. The warm, friendly and hospitable staff went out of their way to cater to out every need and more.
The range of choice and the quality of the food on offer at breakfast was outstanding and so was our 3 course meal , including catering to the special needs of one of us.
Situated in the centre of the town, close to shops, makes it a very convenient location. At the same time it is within easy reach to go for lovely walks, bike rides or visiting other interesting places nearby.
