We went to a lot of remote places in Central America (Corn Island, Ometepe, Laguna de Apoyo), San Blas) and I understand to pay a bit more for the inconvenience to bring everything there. However, if I pay twice the price which is common in Nicaragua, I expect some standards. The STL Restaurant has by far the worst value for...

Look, I had a great time with the people I met at Surfing Turtle, but that place is a straight up scam. It looks nice in the pictures and it's nice to look at when you're there, but they really don't care to create an awesome experience. Here's the reason in point-form: 1. You cannot bring outside food/drink, so you...

The Surfing Turtle is way more than a place to sleep. Situated right on the Pacific ocean beach, it has amazing sunsets and ocean views. It is on an Island and the only way to get there is to hire a local boat! then a horse cart will come get you and take you there! Totally off the grid, sustainable,...

My husband and I stayed in a private, beach front cabana here for three days and two perfect nights. We took surfing lessons and actually caught waves, it's a great place to learn. We took a lot of time just to chill and enjoy the ocean. The staff are super friendly and want to help guests have fun. They organized...

I had a really fantastic time at the lodge, from relaxing to volleyball to games nights. They have a really amazing establishment and great volunteers that create a fun vibe and are very helpful. My one downfall was that I found everything to be overpriced. I understand that they are off the beaten track but basic things were unnecessarily expensive....

This is a place which I discovered on the hype train of other backpackers while traveling through Nicaragua. From the bus, to the boat to the horse to paradise. It's a beautiful place. Surfing was a little bit unpredictable here, but I still learnt a huge amount. They have daily volleyball and events in the evening, from pub quizzes to...

I stayed here with several of my friends for the weekend. We had a great time chilling at the beach, eating, drinking and just soaking up the sun. I did not participate in any of the offered activities. At night there is a group activity (trivia, charades, etc). You're very secluded, so the night activity is super awesome. Some of...

We booked the private cabin for 1 night and nowhere was it mentioned that there's no electricity in there. We saw pictures before arrival, towel swans and flowers on the bed, but we were sleeping on a mattress the whole night, I could feel the floor under. It's a little pricy to charge 25USD. It's only possible to order food...

This is by far one of the best places I've visited and possibly one of the best places to visit in Nicaragua, well if you check out the new lonely planet i think that'll confirm that comment! so apart from the staff being absolute legends in every way from being fun, enthusiastic people that will help with any problems and...
