This is more of a bed and breakfast setting but the place was super clean and the owners are very nice. The breakfast was delicious and super filling. It's like staying at a friend's house for the weekend. The main plaza is close by too!

We found the hotel on Trip Advisor and heard about the tour from friends. Both provided excellent value and personalized service. Our hosts were gracious and accommodating. The lodgings were impeccably clean and comfortable. The volcano tour was informative and easily one of the highlights of our visit. The central square of Comala is a five minute walk from the...

We booked this hotel directly with Jupiter, the owner. He was prompt with his replies to our e-mails and, on short notice, we were pleased to get a room. We took a cab from Colima (where we had stayed). The taxi driver did not know where the hotel was located and of course, when he stopped to ask directions was...

You can't go wrong, choosing Casa Alvarada for either a short or longer stay in Comala. We spent 16 days at Casa Alvarada October/November, 2015. Besides a very comfortable room and a lovely little garden, guests are privileged to be invited into the owner's home for a delicious breakfast every morning and the chance to glimpse the life of a...

Jupiter and his family are truly amazing people, kind hearted, generous and friendly. Our room was perfect, our daughters still to this day want a princess bed like they had there. Highly recommend a guided tour of the area with Jupiter and his wife makes delicious breakfasts!

This is my third time to visit Casa Alvarada and I recommend it for the ambience, welcoming stafféowners, comfort, closeness to town centre and most reasonable rates. A special breakfast is served in a beautiful room full of collectibles from the area.

We booked three rooms and they were all great. That included a suite with full kitchen and sitting area which would be a great stay for a longer visit. The owners are lovely and offer assistance in many ways including fabulous tours of the area. We had previously been on one of their tours and were so impressed we knew...

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at Casa Alvarado. Our room was large and comfortable and the common areas were well thought out and creative. The daily breakfast was nicely varied and filling. It's an easy and safe stroll to the Comala town square even at night. Jupiter is bi-lingual and an excellent tour guide. We took 2...
