the guesthouse, gardens and staff were delightful the owner was great with communication prior to and during my stay however the road junction outside meant the location was, at times, not as peaceful as i'd hoped

Really nice setting, although quite far from the city, and as traffic in Chiang Mai is terrible going anywhere did take us a while. When we booked it clearly stated that breakfast was included, yet there was no sign or mention of this when we briefly met the hosts on arrival. Even after emailing the host (they were not often around) we got no response about this, which was annoying. The kitchen had dishes that weren’t put away, no tea or coffee (which also stated ‘included’) no forks or knifes, and the fridge hadn’t properly been removed of previous occupants half empty coke bottles. Overall- room for improvement guys, and if you don’t want to serve breakfast don’t advertise it! Otherwise, the room was clean and well presented with lots of cute Knick knacks.

We stayed at Baan Kiri for 3 nights and loved it. You don't get a room, but a little bungalow that has so much space. There was a lovely seating area outside, then a veranda that led to the bedroom and finally a well equipped kitchen at the back. The room had great air con and a comfortable bed. We opted for breakfast in the morning that was delicious and served to a high standard right outside our bungalow. The host was lovely, very friendly and welcoming. I can imagine being a to stay here for a lot longer as the rooms are so well equipped. There's two nice coffee stops withing 5 minutes walk and a 7-11 and local shopping area about 15 minutes walk away. Thank you!

Amazing guesthouse with lots of space, comfortable beds and a nice garden to relax in. The location is beautiful, full of green and easy to go to the old town. We stayed here a month and loved it. Highly recommended!

We extended our stay at Baan Kiri because it was so beautiful. We are travelling with our little son (1.5years old) and found a child-friendly, safe and cozy environment at Baan Kiri. David and Oil, the two hosts, helped us out with all our questions and made our stay a great experience. The rooms are beautiful, the wifi is fast and everywhere and the breakfasts they serve are amazing. Until now, the best guest house of our trip (2 months so far).

Stayed at Baan Kiri for 2 nights, ended up going back for 1 night because we loved it so much. First stay in Thailand so we had heaps of questions, the owners are the nicest, always there to help you and make you feel at home. The guesthouse is just outside the city which is a must, no pollution, no noise except the animals (dogs, monkeys, frogs), market/shops/7-11 5min walk (really cheap and real Thai food). It is super cute, the garden is magical especially at night with all the lights. We were in the Papaya Suite : really comfy bed, nice bathroom, little kitchen and living room with 2 outside spaces for us. Next time we're in Chiang Mai we'll definitely stay there again! Thank you both Adeline & Romain

A semi-detached bungalow with a balcony for dining/socialising on. A lounge, Thai style, but equipped for my needs as an artist; once off. Largish bedroom with an odd variety of cupboard/shelf space. Large double bed, with excellent mattress, especially for our 2 month stay. Shower room/ toilet; hot water shower - water flow erratic. Cold water hand basin/flushing toilet. Kitchen with two ring gas burner for cooking, lpg gas cylinder. Large fridge. Cold water sink. Electric kettle, rice cooker, blender, toaster. Crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots and pans. Cooking utensils. A shoer sheet as a back wall, which was breaking up because of next door's banana trees , so when it rained, cooking area got very wet. Two electric fans provided. Thai style ventilation. Not good in wet weather as everything gets damp. Clean linen & towels each week. Excellent maid service for cleaning etc.

Very good! Unforgettable experience. Fit for running. Delicious Thai food. Need to rent a motorbike, a little far from old city but very quiet, can have a good sleep in the yard. Thanks for the hostess.

Baan Kiri is a really nice homestay-style hotel. It has two strong points. The primary one is location. It is about 20 minutes taxi or uber ride from central Chiang Mai. It is located 5 or 10 minutes walk in one direction from Doi Suthep Pui National Park, with jungle trails to explore on foot In the other direction a local shopping area, say 15 minutes away, and the university main shopping street about 30 minutes. I find Chiang Mai itself to be full of tourists, not a very Thai experience: traffic, gift shops, loud, non-respectful. In contrast Baan Kiri is quiet, peaceful. I can walk, and enjoy quiet surroundings. The second feature is the hotel itself. T he "rooms" are effectively bungalows, with a separate sitting room at front, a separate spacious kitchen out back, several covered verandah and sitting areas in the garden/yard. The hosts are exteremely accomodating , pleasant and helpful. The only addition I would have liked would be a TV, as I find having it on helps with studing the local language when I travel. You hear the rythm of the language... We spent only a few nights here; but I culd well see using Baan Kiri as a base for a stay of several weeks or longer. P.S. The hosts organised a fantastic day trip for us with a very pleasant woman driver (but with very limited English) named Goong to Queen Sirikit Botanic Gardens, Nam Tok Mae Sae, Baan Tong Luang hlltribes village, and possibly the nicest restarant experience ever, where the low tables are set out on platforms on the rocks along a running stream out in the mountains.

My husband and I stayed at Baan Kiri for our honeymoon, which included a couple days in Bangkok, 6 days in Chiang mai, and the last 4 days at Ko Yao Yai island. Choosing Baan Kiri was the best decision we could have ever made. The owners, Mim and Gary, are two of THE nicest, most genuine people we have ever met. Mim is from Thailand and Gary the U.K., so between the two of them we learned so much about Thai customs and culture. We could not be more thankful for their kindness and patience, every morning making us a delectable fruit and yogurt breakfast, along with coffee and tea, and spending numerous hours giving us advice on where to go, what to eat, and what attractions would be worthwhile. We really enjoyed the peacefulness of being a little ways away from the city (the old city), but we still went to the old city every night and there weren't any issues getting there from Baan Kiri. We rented a motor scooter every day, which we would definitely recommend, and the motor bike ride to the city was only about 10-15 minutes, depending on the time of day. There are also some authentic shops, restaurants, cafes, and a 7-11 right down the road from Baan Kiri. There is no question that on our next trip to Thailand we will absolutely be staying at Baan Kiri again. We miss you already Mim and Gary and are so thankful for the bond we created!
