The website actually does a disservice to both the quality of the rooms and even the view from the more or less private terrace. Both exceed expectations. The harbour it overlooks is shockingly beautiful and a short but testing walk up to St Paul's Rock above the property offers one of the most magnificent views in the Bay of Islands....

We had a lovely time at Waimanu Lodge and can't wait to stay again. If you are looking for a private, intimate, romantic location then this is it. Loved the view and sitting in the spa just topped off a fantastic experience all round.

We stayed here 2 nights but wished we had planned for a longer stay. A delightful location with a large deck with pool and hot tub. We were the only guests and so had complete privacy. Owners are delightful and honor your privacy as well. Large unit that is well equipped and furnished so as to make you feel at...

We were blown away by the high standard of everything here- an amazing view & outstanding accommodation, with so many little unexpected extras that made our stay extra comfortable. Even though you are part of the main home, the owners give you complete privacy to enjoy your surroundings. With a spa, heated pool, stunning views, big comfortable room, kitchenette (with...

When we first walked up the steps to the deck we were blown away by the amazing view of Whangaroa Harbour. We stayed 5 nights and were lucky to have beautiful weather most of the time so we were able to take advantage of the pool and spa, but when it did rain the room was really comfortable and we...

We had been warned about the drive up to Waimanu Lodge - foolishly we did not buy our provisions prior to our arrival for our two night stay. But the snacks provided were sufficient for our evening meal. The friendliness of the welcome together with the accommodation were outstanding and the view breathtaking. John and Susan, France

Waimanu Lodge is a great place to stay if you're looking for peace and quiet plus the option of lots to do. The accommodation itself is great - really comfortable room and amazing view. Great breakfast provisions and access to a bbq (we happily cooked dinner for ourselves both nights we were there). Judy was really welcoming and helpful -...

This is a very comfortable and spacious accommodation independent of the owner's house. There is a brilliant view from the room and the terrace over the bay and beyond. Breakfast is well provided for.
