We stayed 4 nights with our family of 13 people from Arkansas and Minnesota, ages 5 to 70. The grounds and hot springs are amazing. The resturants and bars were delicious. The staff were all extremely helpful. We will definetly go back.

Tabacon was an outstanding resort! In our view, the service rivals that of hotels like Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton. We were greeted with included valet parking, a quick and friendly check in, complete with cold towel and welcome drink, and then a tour of the resort by golf cart. The property was impeccably clean. Each morning personnel would come out and sweep leaves off the sidewalk that had fallen overnight. Umbrellas are provided everywhere as rain can be frequent. The thermal baths were also amazing. A modern, clean shuttlebus brings you to the thermal baths from the hotel. It is only about a 3 minute ride down the road. Robes are in the rooms to use to go to and from the thermal baths. The thermal baths were amazing! The water is so warm and all landscaping is done beautifully. It definitely has a luxurious feel. There are multiple areas and pools for patrons to spread out. An extensive breakfast was also included in our stay, overlooking the hotel pool. The hotel pool is also filled with thermally heated water, so no complaints from kids (nor adults) about a cold pool. Our only negative of the resort is that their hot water supply is from the volcano and while the showers get very warm, it was impossible to take a steaming hot shower. Ideally the hotel could heat the thermal water the extra 15-20 degrees to be able to take a piping how shower, but the water temperature was acceptable. Certainly it would not deter us from staying at the resort again, just something to know in advance. The resort is in a good location. It is a little outside of town but close enough to get there for dinner if desired with ease. Also a short drive to see the volcano, go on zip lines, hanging bridges, coffee tours, etc.…

Our first impression of Tabacon was "Wow". The resort is beautifully landscaped and impeccably maintained. The on-site restaurant is wonderful with very accommodating staff and great food. We used Tabacon transportation on several occasions. The hotel staff assisting customers with arranging boarding taxis were outstanding. We needed assistance entering and exiting one of the large vans provided and the staff provided wooden steps to assist. Staff member Japheth was especially helpful - remembering us on subsequent visits and making sure the steps were available. The road from Liberia airport to Tabacon is challenging, but the stay made it all OK. We hope to visit again.

We had a day pass for the hot spring, which was really nice after a long day of hiking/ outdoor activities. Note that they are always fully booked, so maybe book at least one month in advance for the day pass? We tried to book a room 1 month in advance, and they were already full, didn’t expect that same goes to the day pass. Luckily, Bryan, who kindly added us on the waiting list, and kept us updated for any cancellation made it possible for us to experience this place. Great hospitality! Also, do try the Piña Colada at the pool bar :)

Decided to take a mini girls trip here for 1 night while in Costa Rica for a destination wedding. From check-in to check-out, you are reminded that this is a luxury hotel. Perfect for girls trips, honeymoon or anniversaries. It was the perfect wind down to the hustle and bustle of the busy resort we stayed at for rest of vacay. Very quiet and the hot springs are so big that you can find your own place of quiet unlike other tourist attractions. Will be back!

This is a big hotel but really nicely done. We had a great suite that was huge with a jacuzzi bath and very luxurious. It was quiet and private. The main restaurant was great but really busy - potions are huge so we shared a starter and a main which they were fine with. Breakfast was good but hot food was very local - they need to have at least bacon. Fab fresh fruit though. There is a public water park/ hot springs 5 mins away - we were told to go there for lunch when we arrived (room not ready) as that’s the only place they serve lunch - mistake! It was awful - like being at a theme park. However we quickly learned that there is the Shagrila garden for hotel residents (not kids) higher into the park which was amazing - fab restaurant and fab food. Stunning hot springs (you need to wear something on your feet though). Really loved the private pods in the warmth of the volcanic gardens. The reception in the main hotel is also the bar area which can be chaotic at busy times - they also need to stop kids from taking over the bar near the restaurant as it means there is nowhere to have a quiet drink. Main bar was fine but closes at 9pm. We did the volcano walk which is pretty hard work - lots of steep steps - but we enjoyed it and came back exhausted. We had a number of older people on our tour who had to turn back as it was too steep. We both had a massage at the spa which was great (expensive at $125) but very good and in lovely facilities. My family and I booked one night at Tabacon and it was absolutely incredible. The friendliness of the staff and the approach to customer service was absolutely outstanding. In my experience a one night hotel stay can often be disappointing because of late check in times and early check out times. The opposite was true at Tabacon. We were contacted ahead of time and offered spa services and dinner reservations. The reservation assistant let us know we were welcome to start using the hot pools at ten am the morning of our reservation. When we arrived at 1:00 our room was already ready. It was a wonderful check in experience with delicious welcome beverages and a tour of the grounds. When we checked out they let us know we were welcome to come back to the resort and use the pools until ten pm that day. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and luxurious. The hot pools and gardens were incredible. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and soaking in the thermal pools was magical. My whole family agreed that it was the most relaxing place we had ever been. My husband and I were both lucky enough to visit the spa for a massage and the experience was intoxicating. Each massage is given in a private outdoor cabana surrounded by jungle with the sound of the river in the background. I had the "spa" massage and can honestly say it was one of the best massage experiences of my life. I cannot recommend a stay at Tabacon enough!…

Perfect romantic get away! The tasting menu at Tucanes was fabulous. We were not impressed with the food at Ave. the idillic spa treatment for couples was divine. Expensive but worth a few days of splurging! We will return

This place is fantastic! I had been having a crazy year at work and didn’t know what type of place we were going to…but was just blown away by this place. Definitely going to be a core memory for my kids. Food was good and I’d recommend just sitting for dinner at the lobby bar. Great staff and good variety.
