I stayed in one of the motel style rooms at this place. It would have been expensive even if the place was up to standard. It was the opposite of that. It was filthy, mouldy and in a dismal state of repair. We were given 3 (smelly) towels for 5 people. No teaspoons, no knives, no milk, no sugar, no...

Avoid stopping or staying. We did chuckle at the 'snake' menu (snack) but that was our only smile. Taupo was fully booked so we opted for one night here, but after viewing reception and the cabin we cancelled booking.

The rooms are dirty and smelly. The spring is disgusting and the whole place has been left to ruin. I complained about the state of the place; only one of the two men running the place spoke English and he told me that the rooms were clean and the spring was natural and was meant to be like that. We...

Run down but only place available on labour weekend Sunday night. Shower didn't work property. Nice thermal pool down the bottom and nice park like grounds but everything else run down. Could be lovely but needs repair. $20 per adult, $12 per child for Camper vans includes water and power.

Only thing I can say is don't stay here. The worst ever. Facilities old and broken, units damp and old. Grounds over grown, paygound not usable, Hot springs appeared polluted, unkempt and generally unusable. Advertsiing not what you actually get.

My wife and I were travelling from Taupo to Rotarua, and as it was getting late decided to stop here to see if they had a vacancy and what the rate was for a motel room. I was greeted by 2 Chines guys who spoke to each other in Chinese. After their discussion they said it would be $165 for...

This place is a shocker. Mouse poo everywhere, dirty, stained mattress covers, old saggy mattresses, smelly, old and in desperate need of repairs. I wouldn't even feel safe in a tent as there were some suspect characters there. We only ended up here because Taupo was booked out. Never again!

In common with other reviewers, we arrived late and didn't have the energy or time to go elsewhere, once we saw the state of the buildings. Mum and teenage daughter stayed in one of the Anglers' Cabins. Floor subsiding, dust, mouse droppings, cobwebs, dodgy kettle and fridge cords, ancient dusty mattresses, unclean bottom sheet and pillowcase. Female bathroom was clean...

Our holiday was cut short because of the appalling conditions of this camping ground. It is unsafe for children and very run down.We have a boat and love to ski on the Waikato river and Golden Springs Camping ground is the closest accommodation but we will NOT be going back. We are Kiwis and are embarrassed by the state of...
