Great find, exactly the relaxing weekend we wanted. Lovely food, friendly service and nice rooms. Nothing was too much to ask of the staff and the breakfasts were lovely. The only very minor point I would make (and the reason it's only 4 not 5) is that I am a huge fan of bread and butter pudding so was excited...

This weekend away was booked as a surprise Xmas gift by my daughter, she picked a wonderful place, the rooms were both beautiful and very clean and after having our first evening meal here we promptly booked a table for our evening meal for the following two nights and we were not disappointed! The breakfast was delicious and was top...

We called at this establishment, looking for somewhere to eat on a Saturday lunchtime. We entered the bar area asking for a table, to be told that there would be a 30 minute wait. As we were only passing through on the A435 we decided to carry-on on our journey and look for somewhere else that we could eat straight...

Just stayed for two nights in room 9. We could not fault the place! The staff are polite and welcoming. The landlady is ultra-friendly. We ate both nights in the restaurant with the food choice being varied and the meals were excellent. The bar has comfortable leather sofa's and roaring log fires which were lit during our stay. Our room...

Visited today as a couple and do not often complain but felt that our experience warrants it. Looking forward to lunch and ordered, there is where the good experience ended! Fish and chips were swimming in grease, chips were not chips but great big fat potato wedges which were under cooked and raw, mushy peas had obviously come straight out...

Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, they had a lovely open fire going too! (obviously this wouldn't be on in the summer!) Delicious food, really good on flavour and portions. I don't usually go for anything on the specials board, purely because these are known as "leftovers" recreated, but the Swordfish with chorizo and saffron risotto was superb

Have posted in the eating reviews already but wanted this place to have the recognition it deserves. Really helpful and friendly staff and the rooms have everything that is needed inc bottled water which was appreciated. Easy to charge food and drink to the room and felt at home. Wish it was closer but a good excuse to visit in...

My wife and I stayed at this Pub for two nights, (1st and 2nd March) with two friends who had travelled from Dorset to celebrate our wives birthdays. The pub and restaurant are very well run and a roaring log fire was very welcome on a cold wet March evening. The menu was varied and was well presented by fast...

I stayed one night at this charming inn. The rooms are located in a building to the side of the charming pub and is very well run by the owners. The room was on the first floor and had everything I needed including a well stocked refreshment tray which even had ground coffee and cafetiere plus plenty of milk. There...

We came for Sunday lunch on a wet and windy day. There was a warm fire in the woodburning stove. The pub is very old and has a charming atmosphere. The menu was interesting and the vegetarian options were different from the usual boring butternut squash and goats cheese. I had a pear and blue cheese salad with hazelnuts which...
