Whilst trekking back across the lavender fields of North west Gloucestershire. We came upon this roadside inn. It had loads of pot hole filled parking on both sides of the road and an original old petrol pump (from when it was a pit stop for drivers of a bygone era).Inside the place has loads of character, wide low doorways ,open fires,pictures...

Thank you for your review. In regards to your observation on the cheese and mayo, we are more than happy to leave anything out that is possible to leave out to accommodate individual requirements, simply ask and we will do our best. The chips are usually great so unsure what happened that day and we vary the specials all year...

Met relatives at The Plough for lunch as a mutually convenient location. Table next to the bar and not overly busy. The staff seemed a little distracted and whilst I do not like over-attentive staff this was, at times, a little too far towards lacking attention. Possible confusion between the bar staff and table staff, probably due to the table...

Say it's a pub but no real indoor seating so more a restaurant. Food was very good. Best crackling I've had since my grandmother's. Serving sizes are large so if you plan on desert skip starters. Stayed the night as well and the room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was really nice. If I am lucky enough to...

Went walking in the Cotswolds and stayed the first time and as the food was so good I revisited! Second time took friends for lunch and it was delicious. One of the best meals I had in UK! Beautiful pub with the prettiest hanging baskets and flowers everywhere. Service great, typical "English quaint" pub, with great character. Lovely to walk...

We have frequented this establishment for 10 years and previously had decent meals. Today we took our granddaughter for lunch and it was vile. Sorry but no other description would describe the fodder we were faced with. My husband plumped for the ploughman's lunch and he said that the ingredients tasted as if they had been bought from the cheapest...

Sorry you are disappointed. We haven't ever experienced such a poor review. All of our food is fresh and sourced from local suppliers and, as can be seen from the many, many other reviews we have, our food is our trademark for excellence.

A small , friendly place with just a few rooms. The staff were really friendly and although I would be leaving before breakfast was served the following day they offered to make me a packed breakfast . The food was so good I had the ham egg and chips ... Best ham I've ever had. Reasonable prices good food and...

We booked for an evening meal. The food was amazing. A very extensive menu. It was nice to have lots of options for starters and mains. Generous portions. Very attentive and friendly staff. Would definitely go again if we visit the area again.

4 of us went for Sunday lunch which was really enjoyable and a nice friendly waitress. The roast was good but wish for a party of four we could have 2 vegetable dishes not one that was piled up, fine for the first person but the last one is sitting with part of his meal, but waiting for 3 others...

This was a one night stay and now wish we were able to stay longer. The room was a good size for a family group of 4, the children being 17 and 20. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. You will be glad to hear that we have now rectified the WiFi situation and it is now available in the B & B rooms. The pub comes under the borough of Cheltenham which is why it shows as Cheltenham on Trip Advisor. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
