Artemis Studios is a family business and what a lovely, generous and kind family it is. My husband and I ended up spending 3 months in Agia Roumeli staying at Artemis Studios. These studios became our home away from home that even after we had travelled to some Greek Islands we still returned. There are certain benchmarks to be met... More

This is the second time we stayed here and it will not be our last visit. There is no better choice if you want to stay a few days in this wonderful and quiet village. The rooms are very nice and clean and the people who run the place are always friendly and you can feel they really mean it.... More

Eva and her family wonderfully accommodated our family of five (with three young kids) for two nights in their incredible village. We loved the spotless room, beautiful balcony out to the sea, but most importantly the personal touch. There's something about Eva that I loved. During the day we enjoyed an easy 10k hike up into the gorge and followed... More

What a Beautiful place this is and the hosts were friendly and helpful. I don't know how many languages Eva speaks, I have heard at least three. You will get a real treat if you do the Samaria experience. You can learn so much about Cretan life in this tiny village, nothing you could ever get from a book. Roussos... More

We found nothing positive, to the extent that we moved to another hotel and lost the money; plenty of beautiful alternatives nearby. Unsympathetic hostess (not Greek), no reception, only way to contact them was by phone, two balconies: one facing the back of another hotel, the other facing a building site. Technically the sea is visible if you ignore the... More

Dear fam. Nigel Warrack, I am very sorry that you were not happy with your stay at Artemis Studios. On our website there is no indication that we have sea front views from all rooms. When reading the description, looking at the photos on the site and at booking.com it clearly shows that there is sea view from the western... More

We stayed here as part of the Samaria Experience, and had a wonderful time. The accommodation was comfortable, quiet, and much more spacious than we expected. The Samara Experience was a fascinating glimpse into the past and current life of the local people. It was also a perfect way to appreciate the wild beauty of this place, which is awe-inspiring... Our stay At the Artemis Studios was better than expected. It was a very real look at the life of a Cretan through the Samarian Experience. Roussos invited us into his lifestyle and we learned so much together. The studios are simple and clean and offer a very serene view of sea and mountain. Our personalized program was highlighted with... More

Artemis Studios was a comfortable and simple place to recover from our trek down the Samaria Gorge. All the necessities were provided and we had a view of the Libyan Sea from our veranda. The fresh sea air blew through when the tall, over-sized patio doors were open. Everything was sparkling clean and the sheets were fresh. Tile covered all... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Artemis Studios offers 12 delightful and tastefully decorated large studios of superior standard, suitable for up to 5 pers. Kitchenette, attic as bedroom, shower/wc, balcony-ies with view to the sea or the mountains, A/C and free Wi-Fi connection. For many years we have been dreaming of conveying our intimate knowledge and deep love of one of the most remote and wildest places in Europe. Finally the time is ripe and the "Samaria Experience" started running from spring 2014. In 4 days of activities centered around the village of Agia Roumeli and the gorge of Samaria you will get an understanding of what it was like to live in this beautiful but harsh place: how people lived and how they survived in almost complete isolation, what they ate, how they cooked. You will also discover the gorge of Samaria as very few see it: away from crowds and through the eyes of people who were born and grew up there.
