The whole place is filled with antiques including the rooms. It is a nice peaceful place to stay while enjoying the town. Also the start of the Copper Canyon train. A variety of good restaurants and friendly people and lots of history.

The common areas are decorated with colorful tiles and many interesting objects. I enjoyed sitting in different areas and looking at the views while reading a book. The rooms are large and clean. A little bit of basic maintenance in the rooms could increase the rating to excellent. The first room they put me in had a noisy ceiling fan.... More

We had a great stay. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean and the breakfast was good. The coffee was the only thing that wasn't very good. Our family of 5 got a room with 3 beds which was great. Very friendly staff. The grounds keeper even washed my car. I would recommend this hotel.

Wonderful staff, beautifully appointed in Mexican style, kitchen served us a good reasonably priced breakfast with lots of coffee. The room was clean, great linens, and lots of hot water. Nice television. No Wi-Fi in the room but it was available in the lobby. The river walk, Malecon is one block away, as is the Fort and the central square.... More

This is a beautiful hotel and would stay there again. The place is historic looking. There are some issues with some of the things there which are old and about worn out. I stayed where the lobby was by and had the internet. internet does not work outside the lobby. get your room in the lobby area. They are not... More

Loved the gardens and the central patio of the hotel, it's like a museum, I really felt like the hotel staff wanted to make a great stay for me. They care for their customers. The food was very good and Miguel the waiter was so good to us.

The Hotel El Fuerte is in the perfect location in Marbella! Near the Old Town ,bars and the beach! It is comfortable with very good service! We have stayed many times and it does not disappoint! This is not for those wanting the nightlife and buzz of Puerto Banus!

Just beautiful, we (my friends and I) arrived by motorcycle, the first and most importiant for us is secure parking for our moto's, (There were 4 of us) they do room for maybe 10 inside and covered, they said they would also put Motos in the court yard if we showed up one day and the garage was full... This hotel could not provide basic facilities expected from a place that claims to be 4*. The swimming pool was not working. Granted, maybe it was low season but still it was 32 C during the day. The hotel did not have any sunbeds! The owner does his best to save the day, provide some towels to put concrete roof... More

We stayed here at the end of our El Chepe ride for a day before heading back to Chihuahua on the train. It was a huge, rambling old mansion with interior courtyards and sweeping staircases, but it was so crammed full -- furniture, potted plants and Mexican kickbacks -- that it's charm was smothered in stuff. The rooms were comfortable... More
