An expensive night for a A VERY TIRED room with frayed old carpet adjoining tiles and a rusty old fan was our only way to keep cool on some of the hottest weather we have had and the wooden blinds would not pull up and had a broken blade. Outlook was straight into the adjoining building and the shower was...

Location is superb here!!! Thats the only positive thing to say.. needs a major 'do up' to say the least... I wouldnt stay here again. Abit pricey also, but if location is all you are after than this is the place!!

Most Disappointing. Apartment too dark. Balcony looked into carpark and other apartment walls. Maintenance so far behind. Had to request light replacements. Stove range hood filthy and sticky. Not enough towels etc. Office staff did their best must admit. Patio furniture wobbly and unusable. Locatation ok. Not cheap. Wouldn't be able to recommend it.

This is our 2nd time at the Calais, it's a great place to stay when you want the accessibility of the beach but don't want to be in the heart of all the hustle and bustle. It is very accessible to both Pilot Bay and the main beach, it's also right next to the Copenhagen cones. The rooms were well...

Location! Location! Location! .. but there’s plenty of room for error here. We were a party of 4 couples who had booked 4 adjacent apartments for a 3 night stay ... bookings were made 2 months prior, all located on the second floor (we thought) with balcony views of Pilot Bay. In the event , on arrival, we were scattered...

We were pleasantly surprised by the amenities here. Good sized studio room, with bed, TV, table, chairs, fridge, microwave, cooker hob, lots of cooking utensils, pots, crockery, iron and ironing board. The bathroom had a bath, shower, plus washing machine and dryer. Room had a small balcony. Very quiet, no noise from the other rooms, but we did hear the...

Whilst we appreciated the great location, spacious room and outdoor balcony ( no views) sadly there was little else we found to like about this accommodation. The interior is tired and run down, very dark and gloomy with poor lighting. Ironically at night it is hard to sleep as the timber blinds are ineffective and our bedroom was lit up...

Hidden paradise. Beautiful little port town, lovely beach and lots of little restaurants. Definitely recommend staying at Mount Maumganui over Tauranga. (which is alot more busy and touristy). Calais is right at the foot of the mountain so great for those who want to go for a walk around the mountain or for the more lazy it is right across...

From the photos on the net, we weren't expecting this motel to be as great as it was. The rooms were very spacious and had absolutely everything you could possibly need, full kitchen, washing machine and dryer included. The views were amazing and location was good too. Staff were helpful and friendly as well. There is no pool here but...

We only stayed 1 night, found the premises old and tired, broken blinds, cracked tiles and run down. We accidently left a very good cheese knife when we left. Trying to get it returned was extremely difficult, they were unco-operative and eventually we paid the courier charges to have it returned only to get a cheap and nasty $5 knife...
