Celebrated my 50th birthday with my partner and sister who was visiting from Scotland. Table booked for 8pm so we arrived at 7.30 for a drink in the bar. Was served once and then left unattended in bar for an hour. Partner went in search and we were shown to our table at 8.40 pm! No offer of another drink...

After capitalising on others bad luck, we found ourselves in the enviable position of seeing in the New Year at Gravetye. A wonderful evening. From the moment we arrived, the care we received was fantastic. The food, the service and the whole experience made for an incredibly memorable night. We had been for afternoon tea recently and, that was superb...

We decided we needed a short break after Christmas and we're delighted with our stay at Gravetye Manor. The rooms were very comfortable, the food good and the staff excellent. On arrival we had a light lunch in one of the lounges, then were shown our rooms which were a good size and comfortable. When we were settled we went...

We booked at this hotel having seen it featured on 'Master Chef The Professionals' with a Michelin Star Restaurant. We arrived in the rain but this was not an issue as an umbrella was duly provided to ensure we did not get wet as we walked in from the car. Check in was efficient and courteous and having explored our...

A highlight of our trip to England was our time at Gravetye Manor. The gardens of Sir William Robinson are spectacular. Our room overlooked the main garden and it was hard to leave the premises. Breakfast was delivered to our room in the mornings. We had a large dark paneled room with a large fireplace and windows open for the...

Our second visit. A quintessential old English manor hotel with the grace, charm, outstanding cuisine and service, coupled with a beautiful setting and gardens. The staff not only believe in good service, but deliver it in a charming manor. Treat yourselves. It is worth every penny. Simply a must for any visitor to southern England. David and Caroline Griffiths.

We went here for one night's stay and thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the hospitality. The wine list is varied but we could only purchase champagne by the glass. The menu in the restaurant offered a nice variety of dishes which were very yummy. Breakfast was even nicer and very welcome before a walk in the extensive grounds. The hotel...

We have stayed in many fine hotels up and down the country, but none have compared to Gravetye. We stayed in Oak room, which may well be the smallest room (I'm not sure) but every detail is catered for: underfloor heating in the bathroom, soap flakes for a little hand washing if necessary, sky TV with HD, sewing accessories, recent...

Fabulous friendly staff, sublime cooking all located in a relaxing timeless stunning building... much enhanced by recent subtle changes to the lighting and carpets that give a much lighter feel; not to mention having George Blogg at the culinary helm!
