We spent a week at Americana and were surprised by several snow showers. Our room was great and had everyone thing we needed so we could cook our own meals when desired. The hotel is close to everything and does a great job of keeping everything cleared off in the snow and even

This resort has done a great job converting a motel to a timeshare resort. Many units have a full kitchen. While not luxury, furnishings are above average for a local motel. Naturally, the pool and hot tub are small, but are well maintained and a pleasure to use. In the swing sea

If you're familiar with Lake Tahoe, you know that most areas are very dated. And that's okay because it adds to the charm. While the Americana Village resort has been there for many years, the rooms, hot tub/pool, and grounds are fantastic! The rooms were remodeled recently and t

I have been to this resort two times now. I really love the location. The staff are helpful and caring. The activities are a lot of fun and make the resort a standout location. The units are a little small but the furnishings and amenities are really great!

Heritage location that has renovated rooms with modern amenities, make this an easy location to stay using RCI points. Place has been around since the 50s and that's probably why the location is so central. The rooms have paper thin walls and we stayed in 405 on the first which

Is the hotel in a walking distance from the lake, a place where you can swim?
I would not walk it. A true hiking enthusiast would. It is uphill on the way back

I am planning to reserve for 4 adults and 2 small Kids. Do you have room with 2 queen beds? Please suggest. Thanks
They have two bedroom units - you need to call the Americana directly to see what is available. They have a nice activity room for crafts, tv, etc. Have fun!

I have a Front Wheel Drive Honda accord and I would like to stay at this resort during the winter months to see some pretty snow. I am asking today would I have any trouble getting to the resort location on a normal day during the winter months? Does the department of transportation do a good job of clearing heavy snow off the highway.?
It depends on how heavy the snow showers are during your stay. We flew into Reno and rented a 4WD Nissan Pathfinder. It was equipped with auto 4WD. We needed it due to the volume of snow at the time of our trip. You will likely be okay, but I would suggest you have a pair of snow chains in case.

"For a quieter room suggest: 2nd floor (thin ceilings), back corner of property/situated on a somewhat busy street."
"Lower rooms are of course more convenient as vehicle parking is very close and in front of the rooms, but all are quiet and comfortable"
"We've stayed everywhere in this hotel. With a toddler, we like the ground floor so he can jump around and not bother anyone."
"For light sleepers, try to get room in the back away from the street"
"End of property is more quiet."
