Stayed at Avalon for 2 nights with our two dogs. Place was clean, basic bedroom, bathroom. Within easy walking distance to casinos, restaurant/retail section near Gondola, Lake. Decent, basic place, pet friendly. "Continental Breakfast" was oatmeal or granola with coffee. Fine for us, but don't expect more !

Dear guest, while we are glad that you had a decent stay here, we are disappointed that our hotel still left something to be desired. We would like to inform your that we have a new management and ownership team in place (as of Mid September 2016), who have wonderful ideas and plans for the hotel. We will be commencing...

This lodge could be decent, if they had half the stuff they claim to have and to add a staff that was friendlier and actually did their jobs! Called to speak to a manager and were told that he only works the midnight shift when normal people are sleeping (Like midnight to 5 a.m.) Sounds to me like he doesn't...

We stayed at the Avalon in April 2016 and took our dog with us. The hotel has a good location close to most everything in town and the rooms are average size, but they are noisy. The free breakfast was more of a snack than a meal and I didn't think it was worth it. The amenities like snow shoes,...

I recently stayed here Apr 16, 2016. I had booked a specific room on Apr 2 by phone. I paid in advance except for the pet fee and taxes. When I got there around 2:30 I was informed that my room had been given away the night before. While I was waiting inside there was a terrible dog fight outside....

Nicely styled, but very small rooms and a tiny bathroom (no tub). The service was pretty poor - the slacker at the front desk had to be asked twice to put towels in our room. The "free" breakfast was a pot of oatmeal and some dried fruit. This is an older wood-framed building with noisy floors and wooden walkways. You...

The Avalon lodge is a comfy lodge. It is walking distance to heavenly ski and state line. Hence you can ski at heavenly and do some gambling at casinos. The room is decent however the gas heater burns out each night. Otherwise it was a good experience. The room is pet friendly and comes with complimentary breakfast. Another note to...

Stayed at Avalon Lodge , with a Travelzoo Coupon. It was all they said it would be. You can walk to all the action in South Lake. The staff was amazing. The Sherry in the room was a nice touch. Great bedding, great shower, fridge, microwave, and a French press coffee maker. We will most definitely stay here again.

This is not a review, per Se, as we did not stay at the hotel. We normally stay in the north shore, but thought we would try somewhere different fora change. I bought a two night stay through travel zoo for 149.00 plus tax and booked dec13-15. On 12-12 I had to cancel due to a family event. I called...

Lovely little lodge type accommodation, upstairs occupants a little noisy but not unbearable. On the negative side for ground floor rooms there was no balcony or outside area near to the hotel to sit out in during the early evening and we did find the previous occupant's take out meal in the fridge! But on the plus side it was...
