My fiancee and I had a reservation but couldn't make it because roads from San Francisco to South Tahoe, including US 50 and US 89, were closed. We realized the situation in the morning, and it didn't change in the evening. When we called the hotel, they gave us very little assistance in terms of road conditions or alternative ways...

Under new and friendly management, I was very satisfied with the room. With the recently updated carpets, bedding, microwave, large flat screen TV with HBO and coffee maker it didn't feel like a budget hotel. For $60 on a Saturday, it was a great value. I decently with stay here on my next trip to Lake Tahoe.

Yes, it was budget, but you expect the 'basics'. The 'spa' was not working (it was a ski weekend) and in the room these things were MISSING: soap, cups, coffee mug(s) (coffee maker and coffee were there), extra toilet paper (there was only ~4 feet of TP - found that out at 2:00am. . ). No mattress pad, just a...

I paid $300 for one week. Not worth .03 Cents a Year as you can see in the pictures this was the lamp next to my bed, plugged in when I first got in my room. The plug for the lamp was cut and the wires were stripped, then plugged it into the outlet. I didn't get 2 hours of...

We pulled off the road at the first older motel we saw as we did not want to pay the high rates in South Lake Tahoe after having had to cancel a reservation at an awful place in Kyburz. The room we got here was large and clean with a decent bed, couch, large TV, great fridge, microwave, and a...

With no reservations in August, I found this.vacancy. Frankly, it was an older motel and I was expecting the worst for the price. We had a pleasant stay. They had a GIANT high def TV and cable, a refrigerator, organic complimentary toiletries, new fluffy towels, immediate hot water, a convenient location, clean rooms, and a bargain price. Certainly not new...

This was one of the most disgusting motels I've stayed in. The room was dirty. The toilet bowl was dirty [nuff said] even though the paper strip was placed across the seat. A member of the cleaning staff was outside so I asked her to re-clean the toilet. Whether in retaliation or not, I don't know, but when I returned...

We decided on a last-minute trip to south lake tahoe late last week and the other places we've stayed were booked (July weekend!) We found a room at the High Country Lodge and it worked out well - convenient to the trails we wanted to visit, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's a basic older motel but our...
