We stayed here without a reservation in June. We could walk across the street to the lake and we also walked to a restaurant. Lake Tahoe will be busy and noisy even in the winter. The restrooms are rather gross.

The campground itself was beautiful, with a view on Lake Tahoe. We had no reservation, campground was supposed to be full, but we still got a spot. Thanks to staff! The restrooms were really disgusting! Also the shop was closed for more than a year,...More

We booked this campground because there was nothing else available. Reviews had mentioned the road was near and somewhat noisy. That is an understatement. The "road" is highway 50, the main connector from Reno to Folsom and Sacramento. It is always busy and very loud....More

Hi there! I was reading reviews and came across yours. My husband & I will be taking a long road trip and stopping in S. Lake Tahoe for a couple of day in May of next year. I am trying to book it online, however under "*Site" I have to selection A1 38' RV max.....etc. etc. We will be TENT camping while we are there. So how do I get past that, or is that all that there is RV camping and not tent? I'm confused. I tried to call the number listed but they are out of season and no one is available to answer and I don't want to miss the only days available to reserve. Can you help?
