Being bought up in the town I can tell you it's been there forever, however there has been decoration going on and the studios at the back are spacious and sparkling. They do seem frequently busy with people in town to visit relatives, or passing through. Staff friendly and helpful, and no noise issues

Friendly greeting and quick check in. Room was pretty much what you'd expect for a mid- range Motel. Very clean, comfortable bed, average size room. We enjoyed our one night here and would recommend the Viking Lodge Motel to others who are looking for good accommodations for a reasonable price.

Really enjoyed our one night stay. Room very clean and tidy. Kitchen well equipped. Beds comfortable. Plenty to watch on television with 50 sky channels and free WiFi. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return again.

My family and I recently needed a nights accommodation in Dannevirke urgently. I was able to organise this with ease via email. I had explained my families needs which included ensuring comfort and warmth for my baby. We arrived late that night and once we opened our room door I was greeted by a lovely warm room big enough for...

This is a traditional small town motel. It seems to be have been built for sometime. Having said that the rooms are clean and tidy and well decorated. the rooms have a kitchenette, Sky TV (no movie channels). There is no aircon so it may get warm in summer. I had a room in the middle of the complex and...

We dropped into the Dannevirke Information Centre for some advice on where to stop for the night. We were told that there are 3 motels in Dannevirke, a "cheapy", The Viking Lodge, and a new motel, all of whom had similar pricing Despite the fact that we thought the Viking Lodge looked tired, we followed the advice of the Information...

Good motel to stay overnight right in the middle of town . The couple who run the motel are very helpful and I had one of the rear rooms that were renovated and quite large and with full kitchens . Only problem was the heater struggled with the -2c Dannevirke night (lucky had an electric blanket) and while the beds...

Exceptionally clean & tidy motel. Welcoming and helpful hosts & staff (room servicing staff extremely cheerful and efficient). The unit we stayed in had an ENORMOUS comfortable bed, pristine bed linen and towels. Kitchenette very well equipped (we've stayed and paid alot more elsewhere and haven't had half the equipment!!) bathrooms could do with a little updating (I suspect alot...
