Set within the small hamlet of Llanhamlach, in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National park. We are lucky to have such a stunning location, with picture postcard views and beautiful grounds. We are more of a restaurant with rooms, providing a friendly face, honest, fresh local food, comfort, and a caring team. This is no clichéd country house the atmosphere is relaxed, and informal, with oak floors, marble fireplaces, and antique & modern furniture amongst leather armchairs set off with fresh flowers and local art. We also have a lovely welcoming spa that has been created in the old vaulted cellars. Just two miles and a pleasant walk from the ancient market town of Brecon with its medieval Castle, Catherdral, and meandering streets, and 20 miles from the famous book capital Hay-on-Wye, which hosts no shortage of independent shops, antique galleries, and delicious watering holes. Fancy exploring a little further afield? Cardiff our vibrant capital is just under an hour away, and the city of Bristol is just over an hour. Peterstone Court means a lot to many people; from magical wedding days to meals shared in great company and memorable stays, ours is a property that has stood proudly within Powys for many years. Inside our twelve bedrooms, you will find all the modern touches you need, perfectly placed so that they complement the authentic Georgian heritage we love and respect. All eight rooms within the main house offer wonderful views, many of which highlight the surrounding countryside and mountains. Our four contemporary and airy loft rooms can be found in The Stables, these are ideal for dog lovers, cyclists and walkers.

We stayed overnight on our way to West Wales
The hotel is gorgeous set within the Brecon Beacons, views out of our suite windows were like paintings just stunning.
The restaurant/ bar and pool were still closed due to covid but they had worked amazingly to make our stay the best
There were strict distancing measures etc and everything sanitised so we felt safe and secure.
Separate stairs for separate floors
You could eat on the terrace or in your room depending on your preference and the Welsh Weather.
In our room was a bar drinks menu which they would bring really quickly to your room by using the in house phone
Tea / coffee facilities with china cups ... perfect 👌
The venue was beautifully dressed throughout even if you couldn’t actually use the rooms
Food was gorgeous in the evening and Breakfast the next morning. Great choices and value
The service was excellent
Staff so attentive and full of fun
Asking if all ok / any feedback etc
We would definitely return and highly recommend this beautiful Hotel
Well done to all at this surreal time

We had a fabulous stay at this beautiful Georgian Manor. We were well looked after by a wonderful and attentive staff. We were made to feel very much at home. We brought our dog and he was absolutely spoiled with treats and cuddles! Our room was in the converted stables and it was warm, cozy and decorated nicely. Our rustic 3 level suite with wooden beams was beautiful and comfortable with spa toiletries and complimentary coffee and bottled water. The bar area was welcoming and the panelled library, where we liked to relax, was warmly presented with a crackling fire. Our dinner, which I recommend Pre-booking, was deliciously prepared and beautifully presented. The menu offers a great selection of munchies, starters, mains and desserts. The wine list was very comprehensive. Our pooch was welcome in all areas of the premises and we loved our walks around the property which is situated on the river Usk. It was lovely in the winter but I can imagine it must be stunning in the summer. We are already planning our return and want to take advantage of the relaxing spa on the premises.

What an incredible venue! Walking into Peterstone Court is like walking into a family home rather than a hotel/business. As soon as you walk in the front door you are presented with a warm welcome from staff who cannot do enough for you!

We made the reservation for our special day within the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic where we were shown around the incredible venue by Suzanne under the most difficult of circumstances, however, she made us feel as though she had all the time in the world to answer our questions and there was no pressure at all to make a commitment on the same day. We ended up going for the 'Exclusively You' package where we could have exclusive use of the venue but we also stayed on the Friday Night with our closest family which allowed us to have a meal together the night before and really make the most of the weekend.

When you picture your big day, you have an idea or an image in your mind and hope that everything lives up to your expectations. Peterstone Court allowed us to have a day which surpassed even our wildest dreams!

It can't be overstated how much of an effort the entire team put in around the clock to make sure that everything goes perfectly, which it did, all with a warm smile and a friendly persona. Reception even gave us a courtesy call on the morning of the wedding to ask if there was anything we needed or anything that they could help with to take any of the stress away from ourselves on the big day and that really says it all!

The food was incredible, throughout the weekend there must have easily been 250 plates of food served and each and every one was beautiful. Whenever we spoke about our wedding venue, the first thing anyone mentioned was the food and now we know why! It is no surprise that Peterstone Court has won numerous awards for their culinary expertise - absolutely flawless! Which we can also extend to their afternoon tea which was a complimentary gift from the venue in the run up to the wedding (again another touch of personality in the process).

For the wedding breakfast you get a really nice selection of courses to choose from but you are also able to give your guests a choice, with 2 variations to choose from (this is a rarity from what we found) but were also accommodating to allergies/dietary requirements, you also get a choice in the evening and we went for the home made Woodfired Pizza and this didn't disappoint either - if you weren't full after the Wedding Breakfast, you definitely were after the Pizza, with more than enough for everyone!

As for the hotel itself, the rooms are incredible and absolutely huge! One of our guests thought they had walked into the bridal suite and been given the wrong key such is the quality of every room, including the stable rooms!

We really wanted to hold a traditional church wedding from the get go and we were able to use the church of St Peter & St Illtyd, Llanhamlach which is 250 yards from the venue itself, providing the ideal setting for friends and family to congregate before the ceremony after travelling from varied distance, without worrying about a further commute once the ceremony had finished. Whilst this was what initially drew interest to the venue, we were sold as soon as we walked through the door and this is the reason we hope to return for many a year to come!

I have just returned from a weekend stay at Peterstone Court with my partner, and I was so pleased with everything we experienced during our visit.

We arrived and were greeted with an area to sanitise our hands, followed by a very friendly receptionist who went through the Covid regulations with us. These included pre-ordering breakfast from a comprehensive choice of continental and cooked options.

Our room was one of the ‘good’ rooms in the main buildings. It had a large and very soft bed, two comfortable armchairs, and plenty of storage for clothes. The bathroom was absolutely stunning - a huge rolltop bath with stunning views of the Brecon Beacons. The bed was beautifully made up (but a little soft for my taste), and there were plenty of fresh towels.

The bar area is comfortable and has been laid out so it’s easy to keep safe distances from others. The restaurant is clean and has lovely open fires, and again the staff have ensured guests can remain separate from each other without losing the restaurant experience. The terrace area is a lovely place for a drink after a beautiful but tiring walk up the nearby hills.

We booked a full body massage during our stay, which is carried out in the converted cellar. It is beautiful, the spa is very well set up and the massage was amazing.

There are some things that look a little tired, the hallway carpet is a little dated for example, but that is a very minor detail. The whole weekend was just lovely. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and the surrounding areas were absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend Peterstone Court and would happily stay again when we next travel in the area.

The first thing you will notice on arrival at Peterstone Court is the gorgeous Georgian architecture. It’s a very fine Grade ll* house sitting perfectly in the beautiful Powys countryside. On entering there was no one to greet us so we wandered around until we found the bar where two members of staff were chatting. Our table booking for dinner was noted but there was no offer to take our coats until we asked for assistance. We ordered a bottle of wine from the wine list to drink whilst perusing the menu. After a few minutes wait the waitress advised us they couldn’t find any of it, could we chose something else!

The menu on the night we were there only had one fish main course and sadly that contained chillies, to which I am allergic. I confess I was disappointed but ordered duck served pink. The starter, a Surf and Turf collection involving calamari and belly pork was unexciting and, when the duck arrived, it was cooked through and difficult to chew. The final course was an improvement on that which had gone before. A perfect creme brûlée, served with a fabulous biscuit that lightened my, by now, dark mood.

Despite there being very few customers dining that evening and after a considerable wait, the waitress failed to return to clear the dessert plates or offer us coffee so one of our party went to find her to pay the bill £260+ bill (for 5 people).

Until I retired I used to promote Welsh hospitality establishments and there are, I’m glad to say, many fine ones. This, in my opinion, is not one of them! The food was, in the most part, average and the service poor. We will not return.

I booked a table here for a baby shower afternoon tea with my friends and family. When making the booking the receptionist Abbie was very helpful and polite. There was 2 people that unfortunately had to cancel due to covid the day before ( 24 hours notice ) but still lost the £20 deposit which I think was a bit unfair as we let them know in plenty of time.
The room looked lovely , we had the private function room as there around 26 of us. My sister decorated the tables lovely which is what made it look so nice
However it was the food and the service that unfortunately let it down. It’s £19.95 for an afternoon tea, for this price I would of expected a lot more. The sandwich fillings were just cucumber on its own , ham and tomato and you only had 3 small fingers each and the bread was dry. The cakes were so dry. The scones and Welsh cakes were rock hard. Very small amount of cakes for £20 ahead. You get 1 scone , 1 welshcake , a chocolate Swiss roll and 2 tiny cakes which looked bought in from castell howell. The tea and coffee was cold on the tables and no waiters came around to check if we needed a top up or to check if everything was okay. We had to go to the bar to ask as no one else in sight. But the bar explained it’s nothing to do with them. I will say the people serving behind the bar were friendly.
They did start showing the function room that we were sat in to a couple for a wedding which I thought was an inappropriate time when we had booked a private function especially with covid.
All together we paid £500 for the food and a lot of us bought Prosecco etc. We spent a fair bit of money there but I noticed a lot of people left the food. They served 3 afternoon teas on 1 stand so for 9 finger sandwiches , 3 Welsh cakes , 3 scones , 3 chocolate Swiss rolls , 3 tiny cakes and cold tea and coffee , the coffee also had no taste was £60. That is shocking. I don’t mind paying good money for good food but sadly the tea was a let down.
You would expect a place like peterstone to be fresh and homemade. The pictures on their Instagram looked very different e.g macaroons , serving cheesecakes in jars. I’m not normally one to complain but after speaking to my friends and family they were all disappointed too with the price they paid.
I had a lovely day celebrating and as it was a baby shower it was more about the company and celebrating the baby to come. I had a great day playing game’s etc. However I felt I had to leave a review about the food quality and service we had on the day as I think it could do with some improvements.

We were blown away with the service and attention to detail. The Assistant General Manager runs a tight ship and is a real professional. The bedrooms were so clean which is important during covid 19 and the restaurant was just fabulous with locally sourced and organic produce. I would highly recommend to stay here and enjoy the beautiful views rather than at an Inn near the centre of Brecon.

It’s not very often I give full marks but Peterstone Court has to be my favourite hotel I’ve ever stayed in. And I’ve stayed in a fair few!!

I only live about 50mins away and would not normally be staying in or near Brecon but I was invited to an evening business function and decided at the last minute to stay over, a. As it would be a late night and b. So I could have a drink! It was booked a few days before my Friday night stay and was £135 including breakfast.

Arrived at Peterstone Court, checked in and was allocated room 208 (I think). It was classed as a Best Room - Country Views, not the highest grade room but neither the lowest. It was beautiful. The room was huge and so was the bathroom. Everything was clean and well presented. It was such a relaxing space.

Got ready and went downstairs. Reception ordered me a taxi and off I went to my evening do! Arrived back around 12.30am and went to bed. The room was quiet, despite the hotel being busy and I slept very well.

The bed was very comfy.

Breakfast the next morning was good. Not a free for all buffet but there is a menu and everything is freshly cooked. I didn’t wait long and all needs are catered for.

I was sad to check out and wished I could of stayed longer!

I didn’t have time to try out the spa facilities but will definitely be back to do so next time.

In conclusion I can’t recommend this hotel enough based on my experience.

I can’t wait to return! Thank you

The hotel, location and staff were very nice but, what let it down was the room. We stayed in the stable block which whilst being clean had several faults in our view. The bathroom was downstairs with the bedroom area separate upstairs which gave it the feel of a small holiday rental cottage rather than a quality hotel. Lighting was very poor and the overhead lights when they were on shone directly in your eyes when sitting up in bed. One small window which was difficult to reach to open even for me being 6ft plus. The bath had a small step up which was not wide enough to step onto fully and was very slippery when wet. This meant you had to stretch across to get out making your standing foot in the bath also slip. the shower itself was very tight to put on and my wife could not even move it slightly and the shower head even at its highest position was not suitable for someone 6ft. The adjustment on the shower head also did not work which compounded the problem. Food and drink was very nice, except one breakfast, but very expensive. London prices in mid Wales is a bit much. On the plus side the location was stunning and a great base for walking in the Beacons.

We have recently got married at Peterstone Court and from the first moment we arrived the welcome was wonderful, they are professional, friendly and very helpful. I cannot say enough about Suzanne the Wedding Coordinator she ensured that everything went smoothly and if there were any issues she sorted them out quickly and efficiently, I cannot thank her enough for making sure our day was exactly how we wanted it to be, she took the stress away from the arrangements and ensured everything was in place. All the guests were extremely impressed by the venue, the staff and how amazing the food was. We felt important and valued by everyone that we dealt with. Peterstone Court offers that something special. The rooms are spacious, spotless and beautifully decorated, the grounds are wonderful for photographs and the views are so picturesque especially Pen Y Fan in the distance. We plan to return every year on our Anniversary to stay and enjoy their amazing food. If you want a day to remember then look no further than Peterstone Court, you will not be disappointed.

Hi Angela. My wife and I were up-graded [for free] to stay in this top-floor suite when we stayed. There was a lovely, roll-top bath; superb view over the back 'garden', which included seeing and hearing the wandering, lovely sheep... actually a beautiful mini-nature park in itself; I recall my wife using the hairdryer too. Hope you have a wonderful stay too.
