This is a beautiful place to stay. Only 20 minutes from Auckland city and you are in the country in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are quaint and very relaxing. The breakfast on the deck was lovely. The hosts are kind and considerate. Awesome place to stay.

Booked this for a work colleague, he had a great sleep. BUT when I dropped him off the property looked rundown and on picking him up the next morning he reported the room was unclean. Dusty, cobwebs, shower needs a good scrub etc. Won't be rebooking anyone there anytime soon.

We stayed for only one night after flying into Auckland that afternoon, as a relaxing night before launching our holiday in earnest the following day. Very friendly and helpful, a beautifully kept room and what a great location - short drive (about 25 mins) from Auckland Airport and 5-10 minutes from SH1 for those travelling on like us. About 10... The Bycroft was as you see in the pictures and more. After traveling for over 24 hours and arriving before dawn, we were so grateful to drop off our luggage (arranged with our host pre-arrival) and have an opportunity to freshen ourselves for a day of site seeing prior to check-in. The pastures, animals and green space was a pleasant... More

After a long haul flight this is the right place to handle the potential jet lag. It is about 25 km from the airport in a very rural area. The quality of the bed allows full recovery from the trip. The great breakfast and the pool make the stay complete. Compliments to Li Ling and her staff.

Despite all the positive reviews we did not enjoy our one night stay here. It was a case of lots of things that didn't work out starting with arriving in the pouring rain and no one being home who could speak English or who knew anything about checking in guests. It ended with us being asked to go and pay... More

We loved it at Bycroft Lodge - definitely exceptional value for money compared to hotels in Auckland proper! Ling was a really lovely, unobtrusive host and (I think because it was Boxing Day) we had the entire place to ourselves so literally felt like we were alone in the middle of nowhere, which is just what we wanted and really... Being quite close to airport (20km) it's very convenient. The cottage is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Pool and jacuzzi available. Rooms are nice and with style decorated. Breakfast is splendid. The owner is very kind and helpful. Very good experience.

A one time this B&B was probably a boutique property, but change of ownership and lack of maintanence is a problem. The blinds were held together by strings that were knotted many times rather than replaced. The carpet was truly stained and the sliding shower door was riding on mold and rust. Hot breakfast is brought to your room but... More
