Not very busy and took them 20 minutes to make 2 hot drinks. After a curdled hot chocolate that was overpriced the owner made a rude comment toward my partner for no apart reason within my earshot! Not the way to get return customers especially locally! Would not recommend.

Thought we would pop in this pub for Sunday lunch after walking the dog. Wonderful old pub with a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. We had mushroom pate to start which was delicious and lamb roast which was fantastic , perfectly cooked. We would definately recommend this to friends and family and can't wait for our next visit. This is not the Ritz but it was just what we needed on the South Downs Way. The employees were extremely friendly and the room was more than adequate. A true 'pub' b&b. The bed was comfortable and there was room to walk around which was very welcome.

On booking for a twin room I was advised of the price of £60, I paid immediately, when contacting the pub, they kept quoting me " Oh, Yes, you have booked a single!" " No, I kept replying, I originally requested a double for myself and my wife, and I was told that there was only a twin room available."...

Overall experience was great. Lovely country pub. Good food. Nice friendly service. We were walking and muddy and they were very welcoming. Good standard room. Comfy. All facilities you would expect. Drains in bathroom could do with attention. A little noisy as on a main road and near the train line. Blackout curtains would be a good improvement. Good walking...

Bedroom was small. We had a twin which we pushed together to make more room. The mattresses were not comfortable with not much padding covering the the springs. Meals were great. Good selection. Good portions and reasonable prices. Staff were excellent.

There were six of us that met up here for lunch on Sunday. We decided to eat in the garden as it was a lovely sunny day. The food and service was very good and no doubt we will return here again. I would recommend the ploughman's with Brie and ham,it was very nice. The only thing missing was sliced...

This Inn is ideally placed for walkers/cyclists etc setting out on the Sussex downs. We cycled to Easbourne from here and took the train back (you can get a cab from the station nearby if you wish). Had a delicious liver and mash. My mate had the fish pie and said it was good. Lovely walk down a nearby lane...
