Detailed Reviews
Nice new hotel with friendly staff. Quiet but very small rooms. Although newly built in 2022, showers could be better (only fixed shower head mounted). Breakfast room quite small, easily crowed, not regulariy cleaned and not a lot of choice available (due to less space). Considering Canadian hotel standard we experienced during our trip (very expensive combined with so lala hotels) still we liked our stay compared to other hotels in this area we had visited. It was slightly less expensive but still at a price were you would get a 4-5**** hotel room directly at the seaside (twice as big, a shower with 3 shower heads and a vast breakfast :-) in other countries/Europe.

This hotel is very clean with friendly staff. Rates are somewhat reasonable, and I say somewhat because they are not cheap considering the size of room you get. It literally is "micro". Not much room to move around in the actual room and the bathroom is tiny with a mini tub with a mini shower head, although the water is really nice and hot.
But for us it did the job as we didn't spend any time in the room except to sleep. It is conveniently located right off the highway to where we needed to drive to. You do hear the cars at night if you're facing the front, but I considered it my white/brown noise to help me sleep.
The only downfall of our last trip there (as we've stayed there before) was that a large group was checking in at the same time we arrived, and they did not have a separate front desk person to help us and another person waiting to check in. Both employees only helped the group. This I found very unorganized and frustrating.
The hotel location is not good if you're looking to be downtown every day as you would have to drive into the city, pay for parking and deal with the traffic. It is convenient for staying on the West Island, driving up North or limited downtown drives.
We have never used the indoor pool so I cannot comment on that.

Dear 633sabrinat, Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to post your review. We are happy to hear that you are a returned guest, and we thank you for coming back. We have seven different room types, and our 2-bed standard are small like most Microtel. We understand that some guests are more sensitive to noise then others, so we invested in white noise machine. Guests just have to request them at the front desk. We thank you again for your review and hope to see you in the near future. SIncerely, Danielle and the Microtel Team

The name really suits this hotel. As a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 small children) we felt that the room we were in was certainly micro. Everything was smartly used to maximize the small space they had available, but I can definitely say that if you don't like small spaces, perhaps some of the rooms you shouldn't take. Overall though, it was a clean hotel with friendly staff. The pool was great and the water slide a nice touch. My girls really enjoyed the pool and it was fairly quiet. However, the pool space is fairly compact as well, so not much room if there was more than 3 families, that could feel pretty crowded.
The breakfast was o.k. I liked that they had hot options, like eggs and potatoes, bacon, etc. Would have been nice to have a french toast or pancake, but I get that it's limited options and designed to be fairly compact. Not sure we would go back, simply because of the room size as the free breakfast for us wasn't that big of a deal.

A group of friends had pre booked rooms and when we arrived we were quoted considerably higher prices. When we showed the person at the front desk documentation of rates, he “corrected” the amounts, and said he would give an additional 5% off the accommodations. When I checked out and received our hard copy bill, the amount showed a total of $441.03. However, when I checked my Visa, the hotel charged $491.03 to our account! Is that legal? When I checked with the hotel they said there was a $50.00 security charge that would be refunded in 5-10 business days IF we had left the hotel room in a satisfactory condition! This was the first I had heard about it. If there is an additional security charge customers should be told about it before they find it tacked onto their Visa bill.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced during your stay with us. We take your concerns seriously, and we appreciate your patience as we address this issue. Regarding the discrepancy in room rates, we understand your frustration, and we're sorry for any confusion that may have arisen. It is not our intention to misquote rates to our guests. We will take steps to improve our communication with guests regarding such charges to ensure transparency and avoid any surprises on your billing statement. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this situation may have caused. Best stay ever they are kind, professional and space is surprisingly convenient and comprehensive, two washers dryers and excellent workout area latest technology and pool jacuzzi and who has a personal 2 story water slide? Awesome rooms were amazingly silent quiet and complete noise and light shutout. Friendly, only issue was Montreal car thefts made it risky but front desk staff asked all who had worries to park up front and they watched your car.

Booked to rooms for family reunion. Morning of arrival, I called the hotel to ask for connecting rooms since travelling with small children. I was told they would try to accommodate us. Upon arrival in evening, I asked again and the reception said they didn’t have connecting rooms for their queen rooms. Why they would not tell me that in morning when I called. After settling the children in bed in one room, tried the tv and it was not working. Called front desk, he tried to look at it and said he could ask Rogers to call me to see what’s wrong. Call didn’t come. He told me to talk to manager in morning. We sat on the dark side hike children sleeping. Upon checkout talked to supervisor and she suggested we could have five to other room to watch tv. Who leaves children alone and asleep in a hotel room????? She offered a $25 credit on each room on a $250 room. I told I wanted to talk to manager. I waited for his arrival but when I asked for him she said he was busy and had authorized a $25 credit only. Needless to say I was not happy that he would not even take the time to speak with me and insisted she give ne the credit she had agreed to earlier. She was not happy. After all this I told her I would never stay there again.

Staff were great! Shanie, Naomi, Mika and Rose were very helpful. We stayed originally for 2 nights. Our rooms faced theTrans Canada - noisy but we extended our stay and were reassigned a room on the back side of the building. Much quieter! The breakfast was amazing - scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, breads, muffins, yoghurt, cereals, fruit, coffee etc. The pool/spa area was nice with a slide. Rooms were clean. The hotel has been opened since June. Nice facilities.

This brand hotel features a small compact modern room. You get very limited closet and dresser space. And our room was very comfortable for the two nights we were here. But we knew what we were getting and if the tour company didn’t make this arrangement, I wouldn’t have selected this hotel. Not that anything was wrong with the hotel, it’s just I don’t like the minimal list thing.
Our room had two comfortable queen sized beds; not enough outlets to charge two people’s electronics (a travel extension cord would be helpful); a very large TV and if you like the NFL the Thursday night game was showing on all the screens in the lobby bar area; plenty of hot water; and a very clean room.
We reserved 24 rooms and there will always be small problems. The guest could not get into two of the rooms because the door lock batteries were dead. After the night manager rekeyed the access cards three times without success, we basically had to demand that they personally go to the room on the fourth try to see it it worked. That is really unacceptable. I understand the night manager was the only person on duty except for the bartender, but the maintenance failed to make sure the doors were working properly. But they should be able to fix simple issues and the customer shouldn’t have to demand the staff take the initiative to fix a simple problem.
Breakfast is included and the dining area is small. So, you’ll probably have to take your breakfast to your room to eat. There is a coffee machine in the room with 3 coffee pods.
I have no reservations about recommending this hotel, just understand the limitations. There was plenty of parking and there was another busload of people here besides us. The building is ADA accessible with two elevators. Some people made comments about the staff additives and I experienced the same with the night manager and the breakfast manager. Just be assertive, because comments here hadn’t seemed to result in any changes.

Very new property, you need room card to both enter and exit the parking lot. Rooms good, if you like gray decor. Fast elevators. Breakfast is typical. total of two large charges to credit card during stay were alarming, but were reversed a couple days later, in addition to proper room charge. Total five transactions on credit card is extreme.
