This is an older property - actually, on section older and another newer. We were placed in the older section presumably because we had dogs with us. Halls were very narrow, rooms darker though bed was comfortable and night noise was non-existent (we were on...More
I stopped for a very short stay. I was not there very long, arrived late and left early in the morning. The room was nicer than the exterior would have lead me to believe. Pleasantly surprised. The staff who checked me in made sure I...More

After inquiring at two motels in Marathon on the 7th of October and finding neither was under $120 (inc tax) for one person, and both places looking 'tired', I elected to move on to White River where I got a decent motel for $82. I am therefore convinced price fixing must be the rule at Marathon which is far enough between towns that travelers are "captured". I was shocked at the prices asked; and will make sure traveler friends avoid stopping at Marathon. And now, reading reviews, my gut feeling to move on was the right choice. I would like to know what justifies the high rates as opposed to Terrace Bay and White River.
