Classic 1950s resort with nice hot tub, lovely sauna, pool, restaurant and rooms with working fireplaces. Some might consider it classic, others dated. We loved it. Off season while Lake Simcoe was frozen, this was the best getaway ever. The nearby towns are mostly shuttered,

My boyfriend booked the Romance Package for a one-night winter getaway at the Briars for my birthday. I was skeptical at first due to the mixed reviews, but was pleasantly surprised! The resort is older but it matches its Victorian theme. The lobby, dining areas, and hidden

For the past 10 years either my husband and I or my mom and I or a girlfriend and I have loved going to the Briars for a relaxing 2 day getaway... It's been like our "home away from home". We have always loved the comfort and the quality of services and amenities at The Briars.

We stayed in the aptly named Sunrise Cottage (3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bathrooms, full kitchen) right on the lakefront of Lake Simcoe. Beautiful sunrise on one of our mornings there. The other morning was magical looking through snow showers which looked like swirling fog. The

I stayed here for a winter getaway with my husband. A few things of note: Shortcomings: - Very dated property that really needs some cosmetic work; carpets, wallpapers, bathroom tiles, are all visibly old even though they seem to have been well cared for. Towels were coming

Dear Bianca, A lot will depend upon the weather, with a bit more snow we will have our cross country ski trails up soon, snow shoeing and hiking on our walking trails as well. Inside we've got a solarium indoor pool with a hot tub and sauna, along with a games room and fitness area. Within a 15 min drive there is an outdoor activity area called the ROC with tubing, toboggan hill, skating rink and more .. Thanks for asking, please don't hesitate to call us if you wish a bit more details. 1- 800-465-2376 Bob

Hi Judy G. Hugh here from The Briars. The Golf Club is right beside our cottages - about a two minute drive or ten minute walk from the inn. Discount coupons (prime time) are $65. We have B and B or all-inclusive packages. If you phone our res team they can put together a package for you to consider. Best wishes.

Hi Hoe do we get here from the Airport
You can check out Toronto Pearson's out of town van services in their website. There are several choices listed, although I am not familiar which goes towards York/ Jackson Point. You should make arrangements before your flight to make the reservations. A former colleague of mine could not drive and used these services to go to the small towns from Pearson airport.
