I arrived in the last week of August and had to stay in town for work. In spite of the pandemic challenges in the world, Katherine had everything running like a top. Sanitizer, cleaners, policy and procedures all clearly explained and described. The home is beautiful and I couldn't help but think about all of the stories and people that have lived or experienced this home. And now, my story is one of them. The bathrooms are convenient and close, very well kept top to bottom and the rooms are loaded with character and comfort. The bed was very comfortable. Katherine was also very kind to check in on me by text and ask if I needed anything. If you're in the area, I would strongly recommend this experience. Because, it really is not just a place to stay, it will be part of your experience when you visit the Bancroft area.…

We were 3 couples on a saddle bag sled trip. We took over the 3 bedrooms and it worked out great. Lovely historic home, very clean and very accommodating host. Good access from sled trail and lots of parking for 6 sleds. Nice breakfast, comfy beds and well located. Walk to nice restaurants. It was a nice change from the typical hotels.

This was a last minute, almost emergency, booking as my motorcycle broke down far from home and my wife (who I called from the road) went online and found this place for me. They were so incredibly accommodating, picking me up at the local Canadian Tire where I had to leave my motorcycle overnight for repairs. Very reasonable price, great room and a fabulous and full course breakfast with terrific coffee in the morning. The host who owns and operates the place is a lovely person who goes out of her way to help guests feel comfortable. Will actually go back again in the future, but this time on purpose! Thanks so much for a perfect stay :) Steve

Arrived on Dec 25th for 2 nights with no trouble accommodating a Christmas Day arrival. The hostess was friendly, the breakfast fresh, and rooms were clean, cozy and warm with comfortable beds although it hit -32 degrees celcius the 2nd night. A big sitting room on the main floor with lots of space. Don't be put off by the stairs in the front, lots of parking behind that pulls right up to the door. Free WIFI a hit with my teen. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

My sister and I stayed a few nights while rock-hounding in and around this beautiful town. We had a fabulous stay in a very nice, clean rustic older home with a cozy fireplace and antiques everywhere. The ambiance and friendly attention from the wonderful owner sure enhanced our visit. Kathryn makes a fantastic breakfast with all the trimmings. We have booked for another rock adventure next year. Thanks very much Kathryn, See you next year. Deb & Dianne in Hamilton, Ont.

The house is nice, clean with great rooms, spacious bathroom, comfortable linens and to top up the superb customer service/friendliness from a Catherine. The delicious breakfast was full of varieties discussed and decided with Catherine. Catherine makes you fell like home. Definitely a place to go back when in the area again.

Amazing house, extremely well situated. The house is meticulously kept in pristine condition. Rooms are comfortable. The host is served friendly, and goes out of her way to help. Her breakfast was earthy and delicious. Great value for money. The experience was very enjoyable. Will most certainly do it again!

Between Algonquin Park and Ottawa, Bancroft B&B is an excellent place to make a stay. A lovely and charming house, as you can see it on TV or postcards. Catherine, the owner, welcomes you with a smile, a nice dog and a delicious breakfast. She knows the region like the back of her hand, she gives you very useful advice. For example, she told us the best product against mosquitos ! Be careful, you'd better book in advance, this B&B very often stands "no vacancy"...

A Very cosy but beautiful house. I felt at home from day one, the staff is very friendly and makes you feel like you are home. I would definitely stay again and recommend this for both couples and families. I watched as the fruit salad was being made, How Awesome is that!

Booked at the last minute and got lucky! As soon as you enter, you immediately get a "homey" feel; greeted by the golden retriever Daisy and my host I immediately felt at home. An older style home, but well kept and attention is paid to the guests needs. I had a smallish room upstairs with a single bed which was perfect for me; clean, very quiet and yet walking distance to the city center. The shared bathrooms (1 full bathroom and 1 powder room) have been modernized and are very clean. Heating for my room was provided by a plug-in type heater which allows you to control your own comfortable temperature for sleeping. Had the best sleep I've had in weeks! It felt as though it was my home as I barely saw anyone around. Breakfast (6am, because I asked!) was really nice with a fruit bowl to start and bacon, eggs and toast made to order. There is plenty of private parking at the rear of the house on a paved, level surface which was really nice for my motorcycle as well. A good choice to stay when in the area. …
