Great little motel with very clean rooms, very comfortable beds and nice towels and linens. Air conditioning was appreciated! All the amenities needed. Staff all very friendly and accommodating. Very reasonably priced and close enough to asking distance to restaurants in town. Lovely little town!

Front desk guy was amazing. Very friendly. When I walked in my room, I laughed at the reviews I read earlier. The rooms here are NOT small. They arent huge but very average in size. Then it all went downhill... The smell wasn't amazing. Pets obviously stay here. The dirty towels still on the back of my door and the dirt on one bed showed me that the cleaners don't truly care about their job. The internet is really slow. The bed is hard. Did I mention the lingering smell? It's really too bad. This place has made soem obvious upgrades to furnishings and decor. It's more modern than most small town hotels I have visited. But instead of investing money into new paint, they should try properly training maid staff or paying them more s they do a proper job. It's not the worst hotel Ive stayed at, by any means. Has a lot of potential but needs some changes

On August 13th, my spouse, 1 year old child and myself stayed at the Aurora in Kingston for what was our first family trip. I would describe the motel itself as average, some renovations have been done in the bathrooms, otherwise the rooms were small but comfortable. Unfortunately that is where the positive comments stop. Although the staff was friendly, I cannot say the same for the Manager/Owner. To describe his attitude as rude would be an understatement. Ill-mannered, abrupt and impolite would be more correct. Checking in, I was left waiting for over 10 mins before he emerged from the back and greeted me rather abruptly, and with annoyance. We were given our room key and proceeded to get settled. The room was excruciatingly hot. The area was experiencing heatwave with temperatures reaching 40C with the humidity. We turned the air conditioner on to cool off the room. My spouse then left the baby and I to unpack while he ran errands. Within minutes the air conditioner shut off. I called the front desk and informed the manager of the issue. I expressed my concern with not having AC particularly because of the baby. He’s response “Don’t plug anything on that wall.” I told him there was nothing of ours plugged in anywhere. He goes on to inform me that because of the heat some AC units are tripping breakers. I asked if the issue would be rectified. He said they were working on it. They AC came back on but shut off again less than 10 min later. I called the front desk and I once again expressed my concerns as the room was stifling hot. To which he responded “What do you want me to do about it? Just call and I’ll go downstairs and trip the breaker”. I was taken aback by his aggressive tone. So much so that I dreaded calling every 10-20 mins when the AC shut off. After the 19th call, my spouse proceeded to go speak to the manager and see if another room was available. The manager treated my spouse with distain and insolence. Saying we can have our money back and leave. Had any other accommodations been available in the area we would have left but we’re obligated to stay. Thankfully a friend was kind enough to drop off a fan to get us through the night. From speaking to other guest it became obvious that this manager was treating everyone with disrespect. At $140/night, a price more reflective of a hotel rather than a motel, we expected at the very least decent customer service. We can understand that issues arise, however, how staff treats its guests and the ability come up with solution/compensation is what separates a good business from a bad one. The only reason the Aurora is still is business is likely due to the lack of accommodations in the area. I would classify the Aurora as to be avoided if at all possible.

We stayed here for a sports event and were pleasantly pleased with our accommodations. The rooms are a good size and very well maintained. They offer a great breakfast as well and they are close to the high school where our sporting events took place. We will definitely stay again and recommend this motel.

I stayed at this hotel last night while away on a business trip. For those reading the older posts, this is no longer a Best Western as of a year ago or so. Check in was really easy and quick. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Rooms are tiny, but yet, still very cozy and definately worth staying in. My bed was really comfortable and had a great sleep. Breakfast was great. Had a good selection like waffle maker, cereal, toasts, juices, coffee, milk, muffins, mini croissants. The only reason why I am rating it as a 4, the floor is really old and squeeky, and the door seals are not that great. Last night there was strong winds and the wind kept whistling in my door. I looked and you can actually see that the wheater seal is not doing its job right. Would probably be due for a new one.

We had a mini-reunion here Sept 19-20, 2018. There were 7 of us staying in 3 rooms, and I can't say enough about the Aurora Inn! We were checked in on Sept 19 by a lovely lady at the front desk. She made sure we had whatever we needed, and told us about the complementary breakfast and the use of the dining room for a meeting room. Our rooms were comfortable, and well-equipped. We all had a good sleep! This morning we went for breakfast and found waffles, eggs, baked goods, wonderful coffee, and everything we could need. Overall a great experience, and we promised we'd be back for another reunion another time!

My only complaint here is that the windows are painted shut. I cannot breath air conditioning air. Had to prop the door open for a few hours to cool room down. Rooms are very clean and not bad size either.

I’ve lived near this hotel for 12 years, and it has under went through a lot of changes. I’m very surprised on the rooms, up to date colours, beds are amazing and customer service was great. I’d definitely recommend this motel to anyone traveling in the Annapolis Valley.

We stayed with our two sons aged 4 & 1 for one night while we visited Upper Clements Park and Oaklawn Farm. We were in room 2. The room is very clean and well kept. Definitely one of the most updated motels we've stayed at. The breakfast was great. Staff very helpful. One staff member at the breakfast even tied my sons shoe while I was getting the baby in his high chair. The best part of this motel came after we had already left. Once we arrived home that evening (2.5 hours away), my 4 year old realized he didn't have his two favorite (antique) toy trucks that he had taken with him. He quickly remembered he hid them under the bed right before we left so his brother couldn't get them. I called the hotel right away and the gentleman I spoke with told me he would check the next day when the cleaning staff came back. My son was so upset that he lost them, he literally sobbed himself to sleep that night. A friend of mine who lives nearby the motel went over the next morning and explained the situation to one of the owners and how upset my son was. She said she would look herself and call her if she found anything. Well they did find them and they called my friend who immediately went over and got the trucks. I have one happy and relieved little boy. This says a lot for this business, because we had already had our stay and paid our money. They very well could have just tossed them, but they went the extra step to help out a worried little boy. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back for another stay!
