I signed up for a University of Calgary kayak trip and it was lodge based - meaning that we stayed at Sechart Lodge for 4 nights and did day trips paddling from the lodge. What a great choice! Right from the trip down Alberni Inlet on board the Frances Barkley, you know that you are going to somewhere special. The...

We flew up from California and booked four nights at Sechart Lodge. Enroute, my wife broke her arm in Seattle. We rendezvoused in Vancouver and, undaunted, continued to Sechart Lodge. Bad weather and my wife's mishap kept us off the water, so we didn't have a chance to paddle the islands we came to see. Disappointed? Not at all. We...

We went on their Sunday overnight special package from Port Alberni. The voyage to the lodge was mostly foggy as we left in the morning, but by the time we arrived at Sechart the sun made an appearance and staying with us the rest of the time. The buffet meals were fabulous, the 2nd floor room overlooking the water was...

We took the Frances Barclay boat from Port Alberni and got off at Sechart. We spent three nights here, with a group of 20 others that I did not know before the trip but became friends with quickly. Everyone was so friendly and happy to be there. Most were locals, from Vancouver island but a few from Alberta as well....

The lodge is well maintained, the hosts and staff friendly and helpful and the location outstanding! If you are looking to get away...

We had a good experience with the MV Frances Barkley (I left a 4 star review for the round trip excursion with them). This review is just for Sechart Lodge. Bottom line: My friend and I felt like second class citizens because we weren't staying at the lodge. The good: We had fully paid for our four days of kayaking...

I wasn't too sure about this place when I heard about it.With shared bathrooms and showers, scheduled meals and no electricity after 10:00 o'clock each night I didn't think it would be great. Well, it was GREAT! Kayaking in the Broken Group was truly special. The meals were fabulous with no shortage of food. The lodge is clean and the staff...

We stayed at Sechart for 2 nights following a week of paddling. It was a wonderful ending to a great holiday - a nice reward after camping. The lodge is beautifully kept, with lovely airy rooms, comfy beds, spotless showers, and gorgeous setting. We soaked in the hot tub while watching a martin consume his evening crab feast, photographed the...

I have stayed at Sechart Lodge many times over the past ten years and it just keeps getting better. Just visited on the May long weekend with a group of 24 paddlers and we had an awesome time. The kayak God was kind and delivered calm water, some sun and no rain, just perfect paddling weather. The Lodge is continually...
