Detailed Reviews
I needed a one lay over and having an early entry to my room. Azim was gracious and accommodating. I also required laundry facilities which I found very affordable across the street (both hotels are under the same company). I was greeted by Sunny, who gave me a tour of the newly updated rooms. Very friendly and I was able to get all my clothes cleaned. Azim was very friendly and asked if I needed anything he was there to assist me. I was grateful to be able to get into my room early. The hotel is under extensive renovations. My room was nicely updated, only later suggested the beds get swapped out for new ones. Also some of the pillow cases need to be replaced. After all, that is a major factor in coming to a hotel. The investment would be very beneficial. I had two showers while at the hotel and both times the water pressure, hotness and nice showerhead were excellent! I did not access Wifi as it was deemed spotty and slow, something one of the managers said they are working on. What I appreciated was the manner in which my comments were taken to be of value. I enjoyed my stay and if needed again, I would stay here.

This is an older hotel that they are trying to update. It is a basic, no-frills establishment with no pool, exercise room or breakfast served. (There is no restaurant in the hotel, either.) The room was clean. There was a small fridge, microwave and coffee machine. The floor was obviously new laminate which had, unfortunately, been scratched by a piece of furniture that was moved. A flat screen TV with cable was included but there were no PPV movies available.
There was no pen and paper, no instructions for the phone, no book showing the amenities in the hotel or any information on the surrounding area. The hook on the back of the bathroom door had broken off. The bathroom door fit very tightly and was hard to open and close. There was an air conditioner/heater unit but the window did not open which was disappointing.
There was no tag to hang on the door to indicate "Do not disturb" or "Please clean the room". I called down to the front desk and requested that no one clean the room while we were there because of COVID and that instruction was followed.
The young gentleman working the front desk was very helpful and had a good sense of humour.

Stayed here for 3 nights . Basic hotel. Fair price and nice people at front desk. Locks on rooms a little tricky to use (at first) and could be a little more soundproof but all in all for the price it is good

+1
I spent two nights, travelling on my own, to visit some friends and have some down time from busy work and Covid stress.
I booked it on a whim, happy to see the Coast Hotels trademark.
After I booked I looked at the address and realized I had stayed there before, but under a different name (Sandcastle) and I was disappointed as we had stayed there once before on stopover to Tofino and found it dingy and depressing (though it served its purpose at the time).
I was pleasantly surprised by the change. VERY good front desk welcome -- a lovely young woman who was thoroughly professional, while training a new staff member at the same time. My room was on the same floor as my family's previous visit, but I was pleasantly surprised by the renovations, cleanliness and spaciousness of my suite.
All the staff acknowledged me as I came and went, the front desk clerk remembered my first name (and I noticed with another guest she did the same without having to look).
For $100 a night during Spring break, this hotel was a very good deal. I give it 5 stars because for the price, which was really good, it was much better in almost every way than I would have expected.
Standouts:
Heated toilet seat and 'bidet' style toilet.
Very hot water, great water pressure.
Extremely attentive staff. GM called me after I checked out to ensure I had a good stay.
Very comfortable bed.
Very clean room.
Convenient to have a tiny kitchenette.
Offer of a cappuccino as I was heading out.
Free parking
Covid protocols fully in place
Free wi-fi and solid service
Higher end toiletries
12 noon check out!! (would be awesome in the summer if going to the beach for one last swim).
Not as great:
Some foot fall sound from floor above, no big deal.
Minimal kitchen amenities (cork screw, wineglasses, tea towels)
No art on the walls, so a bit ''sterile''.
Some traffic noise in the morning, but very quiet at night.

Recently, I had the opportunity to stay a couple of days at the Coast Parksville Hotel while attending a family matter.
If you are looking for a wonderful place to enjoy your time in Parksville, you need not look any further than the Coast Parksville Hotel.
Fresh renovations give a positive impression when you enter the room with microwave, sink, fridge, WIFI and relaxing views.
The true value of any accommodation is the people that provide services to their guests, everyone at The Coast goes out of their way to make your stay a positive one.
I would like to recognize Jufer, the gentlemen at the front desk, always has a pleasant smile,
frequently asks if you require anything and an “Enjoy your Day, Sir”!
I look forward to staying at the Coast Parksville Hotel again.

We arrived late in the day after a long days travel. We checked in went into the room, there wasn’t any toilet paper in the room. We wanted to make ourselves a drink and went up to the 3rd floor to get som ice and it was one large lump of frozen ice and couldn’t break it apart went down to the desk and the person there went up up chiseled some ice of for use the when we woke up in the morning and wanted to have a cup of coffee the coffee pot was filthy. It had old mouldy coffe in there which makes a person wonder if the room had been cleaned at all. Very disturbing considering the Covid times we are living in. I went down again and talked to the front desk and they said that the manager would get in touch with us and a week later we still haven’t heard any reply from them. We paid 145.00 for the room and we had booked there because it was a COAST hotel but was the quality of a Super 8 and that is a generous review. Will never go back.! Bad customer relations!

An easy walk to town and to the beaches. Clean, comfortable and nicely priced. Being renovated and updated. Breakfast was closed (covid) but coffee was in room and they gave us granola bars for a breakfast snack. On highway, but room was quiet. Very friendly staff! Nice overnight stay!

Very Cheap Motel owner who takes advantage of his Filipino employees who are overwork. 3-4 Filipino-employees doing the physical work of 9-12 employees and badly underpaid while forced to do overtime especially front desk after a long graveyard shift on a stat weekend. She should have been paid at least $70/hr , but looking how this owner runs this business , Filipina desk gal will get home burnt out sleeping her days off barely making $15hr on labour day weekend.
Do yourself a favour and avoid all cost this Coadt Parksville property. The mattress sags, the employees not given proper cleaning tools, badly understaff. IKEA sinks and faucets should tell you what kind of person who owns and runs this property franchise.
My name is Malcolm H and frequent traveller to Hyatt and Hilton properties. I enjoy Coast Kelowna but Coast Parksville definitely a hotel run by a DumpOwner!!

We stayed at this hotel and were disappointed. Felt like a bait and switch. We were expecting it to be a new hotel, a Coast Hotel. We have stayed at a few other Coast Hotels and they were pretty nice. This one in Parksville was not nice like those. Then receipt says different. The Wifi says has a different name. However their outside sign says Coast. Our room was on the first floor.
The furnishings in the room look older. The kitchenette is very old and dated rough particle board like. The mini fridge freezer is frosted. The bathroom floor was dirty. It looked like mildew on the wall under the bathroom counter. The beside the bathtub was not professionally finished and looked like bugs/debris. The walls look like they need a wash.
Good stuff: we were worried about the street noise but the road noise was quiet. The bed was comfortable.
However, in the first night we were woken up at about 3am by the front desk person speaking very loudly. He was possibly on the phone. His voice carried down the hall.. We complained to the morning desk person who said they would pass the message on...
On checkout I asked how they can call themselves a Coast Hotel? A manager did come speak to us and listened to us and compensate us. He said they had been a Coast for only 6 weeks. Still I think they need to re-check this room and make it to Coast standard.
The location of this hotel is good. Across the street from the mini golf, short walk to the beach. They let us bring our bicycles into the room as their lockup room was being renovated.
We will give this hotel another chance if we're ever back in Parksville... Advice is to ask for a room upstairs. People seem happy with those. Manager says those rooms are carpeted.

After 6 nights camping in tents we looked forward to a one nights stay at the Coast.
I immediately was impressed upon entering the lobby area to check in with the feeling of cleanliness. Very polite and efficient front desk staff.
Easy parking. The complimentary coffee/hot chocolate machine and granola bars were enjoyed.
Our room was as described and everything had been thoroughly cleaned. All areas of hotel were clearly marked with Covid protocol and lots of hand sanitizers provided.
Close to beach and restaurants.
