We were delighted with this motel. Beds were comfortable and the room felt spacious.
Very clean. Staff were very kind and caring. We had to cut our trip short due to an ill relative. We forgot our Iphone charger. Without any extra charge ( only the cost of mailing the package) they sent us the charger. Thanks so much for your kindness.

The reviews didn't let me down! We needed a clean, quiet place to stay on our way back to Victoria. We found this place with a great price too. It was a large room. We parked right in front. I felt safe and secure. They provided a continental breakfast, but we did not partake in it. The staff was most helpful with ideas on where to eat. The bed was great!

Stayed for 1 night in July 2020.
Room was very clean, beds comfortable and price was right.
There was a microwave, fridge, bbq for use.
Close to everything.
No balcony, or view, but these would cost much more than we paid for the room at the skylite.
Rathtrevor park is close by too.

I was tired and looking for a vacancy sign on a motel, found this place. It's an older motel, and the rooms are/have been totally redone. The owner/host was very welcoming. The floor and bathroom had been redone, and was nice and clean. There was a little kitchenette, and a good selection of coffee's and teas for the Keurig. I only stayed one night, but if I go back there, will definitely stay there again.

There aren't a tonne of options during the summer in Parksville. Hard to believe this is what $250 gets you, but it was a comfortable enough place to sleep.

The room is quite large, but clearly hasn't been updated in years.

Decent option if you weren't able to plan ahead and book elsewhere.

Room was very clean and spacious. We had a kitchenette which I was not expecting. We only had one night here but I would consider staying here longer on my next visit to the Island. Owner and his family were friendly and stayed up late till our arrival.

Clean and comfortable. Our room had lots of space, fridge, microwave, and oven. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but very clean inside. We spent a couple of nights there while we explored the many provincial parks around Parksville.

Expectations----whether it is a hotel, restaurant, a concert----how we regard most any experience really comes down to what our expectations are and how well they are met. These thoughts come to mind because the Skylite motel is an older property that would fail to meet your expectations if you are looking for lodgings that are plush, nor would you be happy if you plan to spend significant time in your room. If, however, you are looking for a quiet, clean, reasonably priced motel in a location with easy access to downtown Parksville, the community park, and Rathtrevor park, then this property might well fit the bill. We wound up staying at the Skylite when the motel we had reserved bungled our reservation and placed us here when they were full. The Skylite is an older two story motel, situated just outside the downtown area of Parksville and immediately across the street from a Boston Pizza and a Tim Hortons. While our room showed the signs of "handyman" repair efforts, with refilled and repainted nail holes in the wall still visible, the room was clean, had comfortable beds, a good-sized TV, and free wifi. The Korean owners have recently purchased the motel and are obviously trying hard to please. When we arrived just past midnight and checked-in, the owner personally took us to our second floor room, checked the room, turned on the air, and wished us a good night. In the morning, this little motel offers a complimentary breakfast of yogurt and pastries. So, if your expectations are for a clean, comfortable, no frills lodging in a good location at a reasonable price, the Skylite may fit the bill.

Our room was a bit musty smelling, and the air conditioning unit was somewhat noisy, but overall everything was adequate. Wifi was fast and reliable.

The owners were friendly, and the continental breakfast was ok.

There is so much old dirt and food stuck to everything. Blinds, curtains, all the walls & doors are banged up. Bring rubber gloves and a hazmat suit. Absolutely gross when you step inside. Sleeping with one eye open. I can't believe that this place got anything higher than a 1 or 2. Would have left immediately if anything else was available. Stayed in a "cabin"
