Detailed Reviews
We recently spent 4 weeks touring Canada and stayed in 10 different hotels, motels, and B & B from Vancouver to Calgary and by far the best was Blue Haven. The room was lovely, overlooking the garden and Jean & Mike could not do enough for us. Lots of tips and suggestions. Jean is a fantastic cook and the breakfasts were amazing. I only wish we could have stayed longer then 2 nights. One of the highlights for us, were the deer coming up to the front door in the morning for their food. What a joy.

Mike and Jean the chatty hosts at the award winning Blue Haven B and B have put the property up for sale. That might, or might not affect your decision to book. In the meantime until they sell enjoy yourselves.

we stayed for 3 nights. we always felt welcome on our trip to BC but the hospitality was superb even by BC standards. the room was very good and the lounge area was very comfortable. Our hosts provided all sorts of good ideas about what to do and where to go.

We stayed in the Magnolia Room. The decor was lovely and the bed was luxurious. Best night's sleep I have ever had away from home. The room opened to a nicely decorated yard with gazebo and picnic table, bar-b-que and hot tub. The whole place was very clean. The owners were very friendly and the mister was quite entertaining when he sat down with us at meals.
The only disadvantage is that the Blue Haven is not located directly on the beach or a stream or recreation area. It is near to some, but you would have to rent a car to get to them. We were here to go to a family event so it worked perfect for us.

We spent one night here, and thoroughly enjoy it. The hosts were pleasant and friendly and were open with helpful advice on the local area. All in all, we would return here again if we come back to this area. One pleasant surprise, we met another couple here we had previously met over a year ago at a B&B in Honfleur, France. What an unusual coincidental meeting, proving the world truly is a small place.

We stayed in the Blue Haven in August and it was amazing! Jean and her husband are so wonderful. They told us about all kinds of things to do in and around Parksville. The room was clean and cozy, the bed slept fantastic! We had a blast staying here!

+1
Fabulous place to stay with very friendly hosts, lovely home and gardens, most comfortable bed I've ever been in, delicious breakfast and Moses the cat too.
Do yourself a favour and stay here instead of a characterless hotel chain!

The apartment has everything you need except for the groceries. It's centrally located, there are plenty of attractions within driving distance. The rates are excellent for a family vacation rental. There is even a hot tub though we didn't have time to use it this time. We stayed in the self contained vacation sweet.

My husband and I stayed at the Blue Haven for one night at the end of a road trip through Vancouver Island this past May. We stayed in the Magnolia room which led outside to an awesome hot tub and beautiful serene backyard, perfect for our last stop as we reflected on our island adventure. Mike and Jean were the most gracious hosts and their home was so peaceful. Jean made a lovely breakfast and both were so knowledgeable about the island, we had almost wished we stayed there prior to our trip up to Tofino and Ucluelet cause they had so many traveller's tips and hints about that area as well as Parksville! We hope to stay at their Bed and Breakfast in the near future and would recommend it to anyone making a stop in Parksville!

Hi there. Thank you so much for your kind review. Mike and myself thoroughly enjoy meeting people and sharing our home with them. We love to tell people of the many beautiful places Vancouver Island has to offer. We are so privileged to live in such a beautiful part of the world. I certainly hope you will be back here to stay and get acquainted with some other parts of the area such as Denman Island, Newcastle Island to name but a few. Perhaps you can even persuade Mike to take you out on our boat, although I don' think you'd have to twist his arm too much!!! Take care. Kindest Regards, Mike & Jean

We stayed in the Magnolia Room of the Blue Haven Inn for one night on our way from Victoria to Tofino. The house is beautiful and Mike and Jean could not have been more helpful in sharing information to enhance our trip. The bed was so comfortable, the ensuite so clean, and we looked out on a wonderfully designed backyard. We were able to walk to attractions and drive to dinner. The breakfast they prepared for us was FANTASTIC! We highly recommend a stay here!
