Detailed Reviews
It lives up to the recent reviews!
We got an amazing price for two nights midweek (though I’ve noticed a large increase in the price since we stayed) and couldn’t fault it.
Great location right on the beach with direct access to the wonderful boardwalk and community parks. Well-equipped kitchenette with double hob, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and even washing up liquid and sponge and drying cloths- they’ve thought of everything.
Spotlessly clean and everything worked! Plenty of sockets including in the bathroom despite the complaint of a previous review.
Comfortable bed - in fact two beds in 2 bedrooms but we only used one and the second room as a dressing room.
Very friendly check in and helpful staff.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Overall this hotel is a hidden gem! The rooms all have full unobstructed view of the ocean, there is a kitchen, table, sofa and queen bed in the room. The room was cleaned and towels replaced. The hotel offers a free round of mini golf at the Paradise mini golf venue for 2 adults and 2 children. It is a little older but it looked as though renovations were in progress. The hotel offers numerous room types and we all felt content at this hotel. The only thing that could be improved is a deadbolt to lock the door to feel a little safer inside the room. This would be a good place if you're not too picky and are looking for a cute beach front stay that is low key.

Room was overall clean and tidy but very old and had not been maintained. Beach area poorly maintained and garbage scattered around. Hot plate only and one element did not work. We were booked for 2 days and checked out after one day due to unsuitability for our family and were refused a refund. $400 for 2 queen beds for each night, very expensive for what was offered. Will not return
Motel management very uncooperative and tardy at returning calls and emails, in fact have not responded to most recent at all.

We have stayed here a number of times previously and really enjoyed the friendly family atmosphere and access to the beach. Perfect for our grandchildren and a great place to relax.
This trip was quite different. I phoned ahead prior to our visit to see if there was a bbq to use as I was wanting to grill a couple of dinners. I was told there was a communal bbq we could use. When I went to use the bbq it wouldn’t start. I had to use a match. The burners were broken and rusted away and I had an intermittent blow torch effect happening. This unit was shot and downright dangerous, and should be condemned to the bin. If I would have known, I would have brought our portable bbq.
Frying pan was the alternative.
The kitchen unit had no paper towels, had to use Kleenex. No hose available outside to wash sand away. Never did find wood for the fire rings out front,
On the positives, the view and proximity to the ocean were outstanding, the on- site staff were great and did their best to accommodate our needs.
In the final analysis for $641.00 + , for 2 adults and two four year olds, there are better alternatives out there.

We ended up needed a last minute place to stay for the night, during our week touring the Island, after getting married. We had our dog, so we had offered to pay a pet deposit, and they said it wasn't needed. They upgraded us to a large suite over looking the ocean and offered us a free round of mini golf. Being tired; we didn't end up making the mini golf, but being able to accomodate us last minute and offer us a upgrade was very kind and appreciated.

We arrived late in the evening and trusted the positive reviews. In hindsight we should have read the negative ones as they are 100% believable.
The furniture and carpet are quite filthy. I would not sit on the sofa or step barefoot on the floor. The bed and the bathroom were cleaned, but still had the appearance of a cheap place.
The walls are so thin that you hear every movement above and beside you. We hardly slept that night. There was a lot of drinking (and drugs?) going on. The management is absent at night and there is no security. We felt very unsafe.
This place is poorly managed and not worth the price. We won't return.

An older hotel nicely set on the water, next to where the Parksville boardwalk begins. Run by nice folks. Our room was dated and dark, but our 2nd floor view of the water and mountains let the light shine in. Main problem was that our studio-plus bedroom-- was in the section flush with kids and families, below us. They rightly were having a great time. For me though, our balcony sitting, felt too much like hovering over their activities. If you are sans kids, I recommend taking the quieter, studio--side sections. But we enjoyed Parksville and the fabulous 2024 Sand Sculpture competition!

Pros: nice location, beautiful ocean view, nice kitchen with fridge, and included a round of mini golf down the road.
Cons: poor maintenance, noisy dogs barking all around, expensive, and no paper towels in kitchen. We contacted front desk about issue in bathroom and they said that maintenance would come next day to fix- they did not. The landing on the stairs broke and was reported by several people but it took them all day to even put up flagging tape to keep people away. It was VERY DANGEROUS.

An older motel, but being upgraded. Some would say that the gardens and grassy areas need improving, but I would say forget that, you are on a very safe beach in the center of a small town!!! Our room was on the second floor, so we had a gorgeous view of the beach and ocean. The lower floors have walk out access to the grass and beach, so are ideal for families. Our room was a nice size, had everything we needed for 4 nights, was clean and the bed was very nice. Chris, the manager was exceptionally helpful, and the staff were all very friendly!! We loved this place and wish we could have discovered it earlier!!! Bonus: Mini Golf included, and the course(s) are excellent!. Thankyou Chris for a great stay, we will be back!!!

They booked us beside a room under construction. Construction hammering into our wall woke all of us up at 8:30am. It was so loud we good barely hear each other talk. Complained to front desk and their response was they waited till 8:30am whats the problem? Constant hammering continued until 10:30am. No manager on site to compensate for the inconvenience and have contacted through email and phone call and management has not bothered to respond to our complaints. On top of this the tv didnt work, there was no bedding for the sofa bed that two of our guests slept on, we had to use our own dishes as not enough were stocked for the amount of people we had and they were still dirty from previous guest. We stay in island motels every summer and this was the most expensive and worst experience. Save your money don’t stay here.
