I really enjoyed my stay! The bed was comfy and the room was very clean. Covid protocols are good. I loved that they are still serving a hot breakfast! Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it!
We asked twice to have a late checkout (Platinum members - Diamond members elsewhere but Wyndham won't match status right now) and were only allowed until 12pm. Housekeeping still knocks on my door at 11:30 am and said was not notified we had late checkout. Asked if I could stay a bit after 12 since waiting for my husband and she said it was not a problem at all. I told her to let me know when she needed to get in the room, I would be ready to go. She did not reappear. Husband ended up being even later then I expected so finally shortly after 1pm I went downstairs and asked at front desk if I could leave my luggage there and go out for a bit until my husband came back since they had said if we stayed after 12 we would be charged for it. Lady at front dest was totally fine with that and said if I came back and my husband was still not there I could just go back to my room and wait there since housecleaning was already gone for the day. What?? Twice I asked and couldn't get past 12pm and now I'm told I can go back in the room if I want to stay longer?? When checking in we asked for an upgrade, but apparently there were none available ... wonder how many times they use that line on members? (Guess there's a reason we don't use Wyndham as often as others) Hotel was overpriced compared to other prices in the area. We choose it thinking it would be a bit bigger, nicer and better then Super 8 down the road, but we should have saved the $25 and gone to Super 8. Lobby is nicely done, big and spacious, nothing like the rooms. The room was tiny and in need of repair. Wallpaper was peeling, mirror is old and had a foggy look even though it was clean, had the ancient old theromostat set to 85F the entire time wit just little bit of heat coming out of noisy fan and the room was still cold, lots of dust on the chair frame. When we got to our room we were perplexed to find someone busy painting the door of the room we were to stay in. The maintenance guy was super friend and helpful and was able to remove the tape around the edge so we could get in our door and just told us not to touch certain areas while it dried. Why would you rent out a room that is being worked on? Is there no communication on what area is being worked on? When we got to the room it was freezing. Discovered the thermostat was off. We set the thermostat but it continued to be cold. Finally cranked it to 85F and left it there the entire time and it was still cold in the room. A little bit of heat came out of the noisy fan, enough to take the edge off a bit, but it remained cold. Eventually turned the short on hot for awhile to get some heat and moisture into the room. In general I'm not super picky and just want a cheap place to crash, but this place had way to many strikes against it. If it had been the cheapest deal in the neighbourhood I would have shrugged it off, but it wasn't. I paid more thinking I'd get better, lesson learned, stick to the cheap deal.…
Very basic accomodation, but it did the job for one night. Room was on street side, but surprinsingly not so noisy; Old thermostat on the wall, which worked fine, no issue at all. Bed and sofa were not the most comfortable, but slept ok. Not much to say as it was very basic, but nothing to complain about.
We were overall disappointed with our stay. We started off on the wrong foot because the lobby has several stuffed animal heads hanging on the wall. The lobby furniture was blocked off with what looked like crime-scene tape! We had booked a room with a sofa and king bed, but at check-in requested south view fourth/top floor room and were told we could only have a standard double queen on the third floor. Apparently this was because the king bedded rooms are on north/highway facing, and the rooms on the fourth floor had not been cleaned. It turns out our room had a balcony, and a nice view of the mountain we had come here to hike on. The third floor double queen bedded room we ended up with was clean enough, except for a long dark hair found on the toilet and one in the bed as well. Otherwise, we liked the decor, and the bathrooms appeared to be recently renovated. There were however issues with the room. Firstly, the heating system was very loud (too loud to sleep with), and even though we had cranked it up, the room didn't get to above 18° C. Secondly, we noticed the toilet tissue roll was down to its last few squares, and there was no extra supply in the room. Embarrassingly, we had to call the front desk and they brought some up. Thirdly, the TV had very limited channels. We did appreciate the hot buffet-style breakfast, but it was served in their cavernous, physically and visually cold conference room. In the past we stayed at a major chain hotel two blocks down, and would likely choose that one next time we're through.…
Room was clean and comfortable beds. Room smelled of cigarette smoke. Hair dryer didn't work. Fitted sheet was put on inside out and incorrectly. Breakfast was good. No road noise. There was an area outside the room to sit. They stored our bicycles for us overnight.
