As part of our traveling around the island, we wanted to see the sunrise at the Mt. Batur. We were searching in the area for some accommodation and of course, the hunters on the scouters on the road cought us. There are not many other choices. The rooms are simple, quite dirty. The bed sheets were used already. the bathroom...

We stayed here for one night before doing the volcano trip starting at 4am. For the price we paid at 200,000 rp we were happy with the room. Room was very basic but clean, bathroom also clean but basic. Bed also came with a good mosquito net. We unfortunately had an awful nights sleep here due to the persistent dog...

It is unbelievable the stories about the Mafia is true. You risk your life going up the volcano in your own because the people in the town might actually kill you... We were offered 50$ for two persons but still for an easy walk way too expensive do not do it....it seemed that the owner of the volcano Bungalows is...

They are part of the big ripoff around the volcano... Made us book with a "guide" who appeared as a 14 year old boy!!! For f...ing 170$ p.P.! You can easily walk up alone- follow the road and the 1000 torches... Rooms are noisy and after being kept awake by other guests, you wake up every night at 3:30 be...

Late arrival at dark. Wet and humid. Cold welcome. No hot water. Boiling water offered but not happening. VERY basic and rustic room and bathroom. NO towels. Balinese style shower and sink. Large bed but old mattress. No breakfast or even hot drinks offered in the morning. Absent and unfriendly local owners. Very BAD SMELL outside the room.

Toya Bungkah is a strange place. The town has a "ghosty" feeling, the hotels are either run down or completely shut down, and the guides association only objective seems to be to cheat you on your money. This place fits well into the picture, run down and though not expensive, not worth the price. But I wonder if there is...

It is hard to find truly nice people like Gede and Nyoman in a place like Toya Bungkah. Be careful when you go around because people there thirst for money. I stayed with a friend in room number 3. We had a comfy bed with mosquito net, the toilet was very basic with cold water and manual flush (with the...

This was our 2nd visit to the Mt. Batur area. The 1st time was 15 years ago when we stayed at Under the Volcano for only one night and did the 4am trek up Mt Batur for sunrise. This hotel (UtV 3) is the 3rd in the Family business and it is run by one of the sons of the...

We only spent one night in this hotel and I wished we had more time to stay one more night at least ! The hotel is basic, but it is a unique opportunity to meet up with real Balinese people. The owner, Gede, is very warm and welcoming. His wife is managing the restaurant and cooks the best grilled fish...
