A friend and I were attending a conference in Takapuna, and this was on the list of nearby hotels. We booked a two-bedroom suite with kitchen facilities, and the experience was delightful. First, I had to change our arrival date twice as our travel plans changed, and they were extremely prompt in responding to email and very pleasant and helpful.... More

Rooms are clean and well decorated. Walking distance to numerous shops and eateries, the most awesome Takapuna Beach Cafe (every morning ginger/lemon/honey tonic and the best date scones you will ever eat) is worth noting. There is also a great beach 2 blocks down where runners, walkers, swimmers, paddle boarders and lots and lots of dogs go! Very beautiful. Only... More

The rooms are tastefully decorated and the Emerald Inn is located just a minutes walk from the beach. Restaurants and cafes are also very close. Takapuna does not have handy 24/11 stores to sell groceries so if you are without a car it is a bit of a trek to the supermarket but all motels would have this problem. There... More

We have spent four weeks at the Emerald Inn during our transfer back to NZ. We booked a villa on Alison Ave. two bedrooms dining and lounge and full kitchen and laundry. A stones throw from the beach and a great view. I cannot think of anywhere better for a long stay in Auckland - close to beach, restaurants, public... More

My wife and I stayed here recently and appreciated the very quiet location while still being within walking distance to numerous restaurants, cafes and shops. The studio room we occupied was more than adequate for our needs with basic cooking facilities if required. The bed was very comfortable and the whole unit very neat and tidy although it is showing its... More

I have stayed here many times over the years and always appreciate the warm welcome and great service. The rooms have most of the comforts a traveller requires and the location is just so convenient with the beach, cafes, restaurants and Takapuna business precinct all a few minutes walk away. Full marks could be allocated if the rooms were air-conditioned,... More

I've stayed here twice and certainly recommend it. On my most recent visit I stayed in room 532 and will be asking for this on my next stay. It's on the second floor and provides more views than other rooms and the room has a fresh feel with excellent facilities. The rooms are spacious with a separate kitchenette and lounge.... More

I've stayed at this motel on many occasions over the years. It is always excellent with very friendly staff who have also been there for a very long time. Always kind. The location is superb. Close to the beach and also to some excellent restaurants. Of many places I've stayed in in this area of Auckland, this is by far... More

Found our clean nicely appointed room via a friendly note , with key kindly left out for us, as we arrived a bit late. Comfy beds and modern amenities. Very handy to Takapuna restaurants, yet very private and oasis like, nestled in beautiful established gardens . Had it been summer would have certainly enjoyed the pool and beach. Impressed. Would... Room had a kitchenette with oven, stove, sink, fridge and microwave. Room had landscaped back patio and comfortable bed. Bathroom made good use of limited space and shampoo, conditioner, even makeup removal wipe supplied. Only a minute walk to Takapuna beach and restaurants/shops. Short walk to bus that went to Devonport where we caught a ferry. Would gladly stay there... More
