Clean and good size rooms 2 min walk to beach and cafe at Takapuna. Tea and coffee making, irons and board were all included. The owners were very helpful when one of our group had a mix up with her room at another hotel and moved us into a larger room that would accommodate the extra guest with us for...

Units clustered around a garden and small pool. The place has a pleasant atmosphere and the room was well serviced by friendly staff. If you stay there avoid the warmer months and the units adjacent to the very busy road to the beach car park. It was extremely noisy to 2 am from the traffic and boozed-up bar crowds. There...

Thank you for your review Neville. We look forward to seeing you again. Our studio Units along The Promenade enjoy a very high occupancy and I am sorry you found the unit noisy. Generally, The Promenade is not a busy road as it does go to the boat ramp at the end of Takapuna Beach and is not a through...

The Emerald Inn markets itself as Takapuna's Best Kept Secret but - having stayed there several times and now coming to the end of a delightful fortnight's stay in the Emerald Cottage - to my mind, this should be changed to "Auckland's Best Kept Secret"! My comments are largely based on the two Emerald Villas and the Emerald Cottage which...

Stayed for one night while visiting Auckland. Perfect location if you are in Takapuna area, a quick walk from the beach and the town. Rooms are a good size and clean and safe. The hotel is a bit old in style but this fits with its overall attraction. But not book this place if you want a swank modern place....

A clean and nicely furnished room very comfortable for purpose. 3 hours of complimentary wifi was a bit on the light side for 2 nights however it was better than having to pay for it. The door opening into a small almost courtyard type garden was pleasant and calming. Loved that the unit had a full functioning stove also. Bed...

Stayed 2 nights for work purposes. Rooms very nice, clean, pleasant decor, well equipped. Lots of lush vegetation, but this has made the parking spaces very very small and difficult to get in and out of if you have a larger car!

Thank you for your review Allie. There is a variety of parking spots available of various sizes. Many guests do now have larger cars or 4WD vehicles for travellers comfort. We find the parking spaces either at the front or the back of the Emerald Inn are better suited to these vehicles. However parking is not allocated and we trust...

Reasonable price tho not budget accommodation. Ideally situated for beach front and Takapuna shopping & restaurants. Setting is very lush and peaceful but parking and vehicle manoeuvring is tight. We arrived after 7pm so no reception available at that time? There was however a directional arrow with our name & a key under the mat. We had thought of taking...

Thank you for your review. There are at least 4 cafes within two minutes walk. When guests choose to go out for breakfast we have found from experience they prefer to enjoy the local cafes. We do have tea and coffee making facilities, coffee plunger, toaster and microwave facilities in all rooms. We look forward to welcoming you again in...

Lovely from the gardens to the room, and within a minute walk of a nice beach and an excellent cafe on the water (along with many bars and restaurants 10 mins walk up the road). Check in was quick and easy. Rooms very clean and modern with good beds. Rooms/units have their own entrance and at least one parking stop...

Overall good place in Takapuna: nice staff at the front desk, clean & cosy and close to the beach as well as many restaurants. Customer service is to be improved though: one day the cleaning staff refused to come back 15 mins later and just gave us the towels. Besides breakfast is not served on week ends and only from...

A friend and I were attending a conference in Takapuna, and this was on the list of nearby hotels. We booked a two-bedroom suite with kitchen facilities, and the experience was delightful. First, I had to change our arrival date twice as our travel plans changed, and they were extremely prompt in responding to email and very pleasant and helpful....
