This B&B is located in a former Canadian senator's residence, which has been carefully and extensively restored and filled with all manner of antiques. It sits on a treed large corner lot, set back from the street. Our night's sleep, between elegant sheets, on a comfortable mattress was restful and refreshing, in large part because of the quiet location in...

Our stay at Rhodes Manor was wonderful! The accomodations were excellent and it is obvious that much time and money has been spent to renovate the inside. Our rooms were very comfortable, with spacious bathrooms and a common sitting room. The owners, Margaret and Colin were extremely hospitable in every possible way and made our stay very enjoyable. They were...

We stayed over in Amherst on a drive back from Cape Breton and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rhodes Manor. The B&B is well thought out, with both charming and classic features that make wach nook and cranny interesting. Margaret and Colin are excellent hosts, and I especially enjoyed a morning run with Margaret on the back roads and...

This B&B was the first stop of our 'German family' road trip and is a highlight of our travels. Staying with Margaret & Colin felt like staying with friends. The rooms are incredible (we booked 3 different rooms, one was nicer than the next) and it was tough to get everyone up the next day as we all slept so...

The house was on a quiet street not far from downtown Amherst, in a transitional neighborhood, where older, elegant homes had fallen into disrepair, but are now being transformed to their former stately charm. The owners have done much to make this mansion a showplace. They make you remove your shoes at the front door and wear slippers or stocking...

I've been to so many B & B's across Canada and USA that I've lost count. I must state emphatically that Rhodes Manor in Amherst is the finest place I've ever stayed in. The Manor was recommended to me by a business associate and I had only planned to stay for one night. However, I couldn't resist extending my stay...

I stayed there this October when I went to the Fiber Festival. It was great. Margaret and Colin went out of there way to make me feel at home. The breakfast was good and I enjoyed the yogurt with fruit very much. The room was very clean and the bed to die for, so comfortable. Sport the dog was cute...

I went to Amherst over the weekend to see the Rockabilly Concert which was amazing by the way I felt like a VIP because the friends I went with knew a lot of the bands that were playing. I spent one night at the Rhodes Bed and Breakfast and I didn't want to get out the most comfortable bed I've...

We stayed Rhodes Manor as a stop on a 2100 mile motorcycle trip from NH to Cape Breton. As it was near the end of the trip we were getting road weary. What a wonderful suprise to have Margaret meet us at the driveway with a warm and welcoming greeting. The Manor is beautiful. It is clean and comfortable. Margaret...

August 1, 2012 S and R You arrived thundering into the parking lot, the four bikes gleaming in the sun! Margaret immediately felt the connection with your group. We felt like old friends had arrived at our door. The conversations during your entirely too quick stay again renewed why we got into this business. It is people like you who...

We stayed in Amherst en route between Halifax and PEI. Overall, our experience at Rhodes Manor was excellent. While the room perhaps suffered from an excess of antique knickknacks, the beds were of excellent quality, and we had a private TV and bathroom. The breakfast, consisting of yogurt parfaits and apple-stuffed french toast, was wonderful. The biggest selling point of...
