Five of us enjoyed a lovely lunch time meal at the Portway. We all thoroughly enjoyed. Good food and good service. Lovely choice of starter, main and deserts. Alot of pub meals are disappointing but this was excellent. Well done Portway. We will be back!

This place just seems to get better with each visit. Hadn't been there for some months, so last Sunday ,whilst visiting our daughter and grand daughter ,our son-in-law decided to book a fairly late lunch. I've always thought the service was good here but this time it was excellent. Friendly, efficient, so willing and wanting to please. The choice of starters, main dishes...

Another relaxing three days spent at the Portway inn. Great food, friendly staff in a old worldy inn. Would recommend anytime. The Portway is about twelve miles from Hereford and about the same from Hay-on-Wye set in a rural location. Most of the food served is soarced locally and is well prepared and served with a smile.

We visited the Portway for lunch along with our dog and received a very warm welcome. The menu featured fresh, locally sourced products and our choices were all delicious - definitely above average pub grub. Well worth a visit.

The Portway has seen better days and feels faded... lunch was nothing special & the lamb was really overcooked. Rest of food was all rather basic and a somewhat unimaginative. Like going back to days when pub food was just getting a foothold in the market place. Could be better for what is charged... The beers are well looked after...

I had started to lose all faith in the traditional home cooked meals pubs had to offer in the form of hearty good grub, until this gem came to my attention. I went for a late Sunday dinner and they were fine to accommodate us at such a brilliant position, they meal was good and the drinks were fresh and...

Party of three. Arrived just in time for supper and enjoyed excellent food - particularly the steaks. The beer was very well kept. Clean tidy rooms. Very good breakfast. Helpful team. If we return to the area would definitely use again.

Lovely warm welcome when we arrived from Sian who did everything to make sure our stay was perfect. Big open fire in the bar and a delicious reasonably priced evening meal. Comfortable warm traditional bedroom with a bath in a separate bathroom there is some road noise but this is not a problem and the road is not too busy....

Was part of a large family group that came here for Sunday lunch. As we were a large group and had pre-booked they asked us to also pre-order. This was not a problem and meant that food was served fairly quickly on our arrival. Can recommend the Crispy duck for a starter and the roast lamb was excellent. The pub...
