We stayed for two nights following a 5 day kayaking trip. We are right in line with the other excellent reviews. The quality and design of the lodge, which is also Scott and Tanya's home is superb as is the secluded setting overlooking a quiet inlet. Scott recently opened a coffee shop in town which serves just about the best...

He-ten-kis Lodge is a post-and-beam type of home with three guest suites. We stayed two nights in early September. Scott and Tanya's home is modern and attractive and quite secluded, compared to many of other cabins in Ucluelet. It has a lovely view of a secluded cove, somewhat protected from the full brunt of the Pacific but with a nice...

Although Tanya was not at home when we arrived, our room (#3) was available and initial impressions were very good. We had a lovely time here and Tanya was very helpful in providing transport to town in the mornings, as we were travelling on foot. There is no breakfast provided at He Tin Kis, which is always a surprise to...

Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure meeting you. I was happy to give you rides around Ucluelet, as the West Coast of Vancouver Island does not have a lot of public transportation. I will be doing the same for guests arriving today (FYI - If you book with us and are traveling on foot, please let us...

After driving through Alberta and B.C. and staying in a number of "regular" hotels, it was a wonderful treat to spend a weekend at this lodge. A beautiful setting and a very welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be recommending the He-Tin-Kis Lodge for anyone we know heading out to Vancouver Island!

I don't know where to start...Maybe with the owners, Tanya and Scott who welcome you like if you were part of the family, want to make sure you'll have a great stay, their house is your house, Scott built it with all his heart, he and Tanya both love this place, you can feel it and they want to share...

Stayed at He-Tin-Kis Lodge for 3 nights in June 2012. We had the suite with the Jacuzzi. The room is very well appointed and kept spotlessly clean. Tanya is very friendly and helpful with advice of things to see & do in town and near by, and makes you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. We will defiantly stay...

This is an amazing place to stay. We enjoyed a great 2 night stay in July. We really enjoyed walks down to the beach and looking at the beautiful views offered by the lodge. The mini kitchenette was very useful. There is only one suggestion we have, you could only wash plates etc. in the bathroom so a small sink...

This small and unique lodge was just what we’d hoped for: comfort and privacy, a refreshing change of pace from the usual tourist accommodation. Nestled among huge old-growth trees on the edge of Barkley Sound, we watched a black bear forage across the inlet from our living room window, and were entertained by whales spouting in the deeper water just...

The lodge is just as we expected; wonderful views, very comfortable room (even the sofa bed was great) and a lovely restful place, as one would hope for in such a location. We would highly recommend it as a get-away.
