The most beautiful and quaint rural pub in the most peaceful village of Thurstonland is run by Richard and family who are so welcoming and friendly. The food is lovely and they serve local beers also, I will definitely be back if I haven't moved up this way before I come back. Don't hesitate to book as you won't be...

We arrived at the Hotel approx 18.00hrs on a Wednesday evening and were pleasantly surprised at the number of people that were already eating or drinking there as quite often these days pubs can be quite empty mid week. The atmosphere was good . We received a very warm and efficient welcome from the smiling young lady behind the bar....

Stayed here as it was just 12 minutes from where my husband had meetings and they accepted dogs. Welcome was very warm with lots of offers of help when I arrived with our dog. Room was warm and big enough to accommodate us and the dogs bed. Lots of hot water for the bath - much needed after a wet,...

They were obviously regulars and had two meals we were having and also fish and chips. We all loved the food, we had gammon and also scampi. The...

Booked in for 1 night as a stopover to break up my journey, a very wise decision as it turned out. We were made to feel really welcome by bar staff and locals alike. As per previous reviews I can whole heartedly endorse the superb meals and there is an extensive choice of ales to suit everyone. If the food...

If you are thinking of staying here do not eat anything for at least a day before you go and you might ! just might ! finish one course. Stayed here for one night bed breakfast and evening meal and could not fault the quality of the food or the friendliness of the hosts. This is a very old pub...

A warm welcome from landlord and staff. Friendly local pub. Stayed 2 nights in a comfy room, excellent shower. Food in bar was home cooked and delicious, the best steak and ale pie. A delightful stay. Thanks.

Stayed here for a night on a recent business trip. Had a great experience, met the locals had good craic at the bar. Bags more character than a chain hotel. Overall good accommodation with a great English breakfast.
